Also true. But I said "as visible an issue" meaning Epping were obviously getting help from Hunters Hill. If others were suffering in silence, it is up to them to speak about it.

Can only go off the evidence presented. Besides Lindfield and Newport dominating, everyone met their obligations, which Prodigy has pointed out multiple times is a strength of Epping's Grade program, not much else to be drawn from that.

Your alernative model(s) have a bias toward Epping's needs of 3-4 Grades and a decoupled Colts requirement.

Nothing wrong with that, though it makes a lot of assumptions about what other clubs can do or will fit in with. Will a former 5th Division club agree to a 12:55PM kick off in the event this model happens? After all their guys spent time getting used to 3:15PM?

Worth remembering when you question the motives of the board or its members.

And that doesn't take into account the other hours a club volunteer puts in during the week. Training nights for coaches and support staff. Communication time from managers. Everything else from Club Secretaries ;)

Friday night would also be interesting in that regard. Worked for finals, but I think the risk is further fracturing a club e.g. Epping's experience of two grades here, two grades there. Tough to breed a bit of club spirit when you're getting results from the other grades by phone or Cluch...

The situation was chaos the last three years so we should test out various things.

I'd like to see a model where NSW Rugby steps in and assists clubs with recruitment from schools into Colts programs. Local schools and juniors should be aligned with clubs - and not just Premier Clubs - in order to keep people in the game. Start an U19 comp if that's what it takes (Subbies had U19 about a decade ago) and help clubs with recruitment and retention.

Rugby League does this well via their club structures. No reason we can't either.

BROTHERS RUGBY SYDNEY SIGNS SECOND MOU

After having signed a MOU to be the official community rugby partner of Australian Catholic University Sydney, Brothers Rugby Sydney has also signed a MOU with Campion College, a Catholic liberal arts university based at Toongabbie. Although small, it is on a strong growth path and our MOU also extends to alumni of Campion who the college will encourage to join Brothers if they wish to play rugby. As with ACU this MOU is in effect for three years. We will provide one competitive education scholarship to Campion College in return.

ACU have also welcomed members of Campion to join the 'Try Women's Sevens Rugby' program we have been engaged to run for ACU at their Strathfield campus at the start of first semester in 2024. This should further boost our chances of fielding a Women's Sevens team in 2024.

This is another example of the innovative ways the committee is looking to re-invigorate the club starting in 2024. In order to be realised, all of our plans require the efforts of club members and supporters, and we will be seeking assistance from anyone capable and willing to provide it. More details will follow, but for the moment please note the efforts we are making to re-grow the club.

Genuine question for clubs and those running it:
One of the big drivers and incentives for sponsorship has been the ability to promote the Cluch/NSW Rugby TV footage. Given the recent information about this being influx, are clubs still including it as part of their sponsorship plans for 2024?

It isn't the base of how we sell sponsorships but I reckon a few clubs would have put that into their structures.

Interesting development, particularly for St Pat's who have been trying to capitalise on the ACU Strathfield campus for some time...

Sometimes these seem like sad days but this one feels proactive before things can't be saved. Well done to both Clubs.

There is also a lot of the Iggies players live around or closer to Tantallon as well.

Being 5 mins from the school may give them more visibility to the boys and encourage more to come down as well. Being an area with a lot of Rugby fans and traditional Rugby schools might get a few others show up.

Gotta say the difference between putting up a photo and putting up a short video is crazy different. Well over 500 views for each of our Colts videos. Aiming at Radford Cup for 2024 as it would be a very young team with a lot of league players, so physically hard but Laws and set piece? Hmmm....
