Henry had a very dry sense of humour that was not always appreciated. Hansen is a bit more gruff, straightforward and lacking in subtlety. He does occasionally come up with the odd memorable one-liner - "flush the dunny and move on" was a rather laconic response to criticism after a scratchy win against Italy.

Love your signature by the way. The Hitch was a great man (even if he did find all sports dull).

Hitchens was indeed a very interesting personality.
I feel some affinity with his vices (juice, that is).
I actually had to modify the end of his statement for my signature - his ending was less diplomatic.

I remember the speech that quote comes from. It is one of his finest where he defends the right of free speech, and in particular speech that is unpopular.

I wonder if one day there will be a rugby coach as eloquent as the Hitch.

I've always thought Hansen was a bit of a tossa & he's actually been mentioned in more than one players autobiography for being a big mouth.

Ahh Hitch, I miss him. I think your signature should finish "author, writer and inventor of the Hitchslap"

Hitchslap - The process of utterly obliterating an opponent's entire (usually religious or political) argument, usually in one or more succinct or terse statements, orally or in writing.

What a great skill to have!

I thought players were pretty keen on him disco, but I must admit to not having read too many biographies lately, which ones were they??

Slow week for rugby. Let's talk about what a WANKER the opposition coach is.

"They had the same look in their faces. They were flabbergasted, where do we go next, what do we do next?"

"Although we won 22-0 we could've probably scored another four or five tries."

"I've spent a lot of time coaching with him, he's not a bad coach"

You might be onto something there FrankLind.

You must have missed all the posts on Robbie Deans over at TSF over the past several years using rather more pejorative terms. This is hardly unique. Shag is hardly going to garner many fans here peddling his line of being vaguely smug and a bit of a smartarse. He's not exactly lovable.

I'm sure he is devastated.
