That was enjoyable game of rugby. Lot to like about both sides but reds the better side. JOC (James O'Connor) vintage control at 10 and the complete masterclass. Paisami’s Knick name should be the chirpactor with some of the hits. Forwards for qld immense. Call out to kahui for the force as ageless display from him whilst wingers also class.

JOC (James O'Connor) making me eat my words. Long may it continue. Played a good game at 10 tonight.

Gutsy effort by the Reds, their defense is impressive. Force didn't fire many shots even though they had a fair bit of opportunity. Still a work in progress but I like the direction they're heading.

Campbell playing great rugby. Paisami had a cracker. McReight and Wilson killed it. More dry games please.

Force go down to a good Reds outfit using all the minutes available to them as a tactical ploy. Plenty to like about the Force team. Fines has been a revelation and gets them from A to B quickly and is a handful to defend. He needs some more pieces around him before the Force become real contenders. I said last year that this team is a work in progress and were still another year or two off. I liked the look of our attack in the first half but we lost direction in the last 20 minutes. Need a bit more from Mataele who looks to the eye to be a yard short of pace and carrying a few KG's more than he needs. Anstee at 8 needs to be a bit more damaging as a runner like he showed last year. No alarm bells as I see it. Trust the process and the Force management to get the right mix going ahead. Go you Force, Tahs to beat next week.

Fines has been great for a few years now. Just hasn't had enough oppertunity imo. Mataele looks too big and seems to be enjoying his time to much in WA. We couldn't get over the ball at all in this game. I'm surprised Kane didn't come on earlier but the ref was letting players seal off the ball so not much of a chance to get steals.

Haha. Godwin hardly tackled the guy. Biggest sell of the night

Enjoy the loss mate. Comments on an internet forum don’t equate to wins.

Between you lot and the trash I’ve read from Rebels supporters it’s no wonder people turn away from rugby.

Well watched the game when I got up this morning because it was at midnight here, and have to say as a reasonable neutral from over here in NZ thought it was a quality match, played by 2 good teams. I mentioned a week or too back I hadn't seen Fines play , well I can say I happy to say I have seen him now and looks a fairly good 9 to me. The Reds are looking like they are starting to roll well now, and will I think be hard to beat this year. Very good enjoyable game!! :)

Yeah that’s a fair point, I was a bit harsh. Kudos to him for playing that role, and you’re right in saying his defence was particularly solid, but there were a few occasions tonight where he seemed completely lost. There was also a stark difference in tempo and general organisation when Jeans came on.

I do genuinely hope we have a great battle between Jeans and Kalani for the 21 jersey - both have shown what they can do
It was a game of two halves though, not just because if the halfbacks. Thomas had less possession and territory then Jeans had to work with, Reds forwards actually played with a bit of dominance in second half, it’s natural Spencer had more time and space on the back of those.

i thought Kalani did well in the first half given the pressure his forwards were under and where he was playing from in the field, not perfect but miles ahead of where he was in previous seasons.

On the Force, I think they should have taken the points when on offer in the first half, there was a few times they turned down the easy kick at goal and went for the try and walked away from the 22 with nothing. They had dominance through their lineout and scrum in the first half and should have just aimed to build pressure on the scoreboard through those. Easy to say in retrospect but just an observation.

I can tell you after watching this game, I will say the supposed gap between Aus and NZ teams is not what the negative so called supporters say, as a Canes man, I would not be feeling over confident on us taking on either of these teams, and would be real nervous againt Reds, who I think would compete bloody well with any of NZ teams, and I see making top 4 of comp.

That loss hurt the Force. They should have beaten the Brumbies and were determined last night. But I think they prepared for the Reds team of rounds 1&2 and the QLD team that played last night were so much more impressive. I think they surprised everyone.
Don’t give up on the Force.
