Is there anyone on the forums here who has done some sprint training and knows the technical side of running?

I've put a short video together and am hoping someone with the knowledge can write analysis to go with it.

I kept a document with sprint advice I picked up from various places. It's all over the place, but I'll attach it.

The single best piece of advice is to relax.

That footage shows the sprint training has actually worked. Carter was able to keep pace (well close enough to force him into the corner) with Pietersen, something I doubt he'd been able to do previously. The Tahs problems aren't that their not physically strong or quick enough its that they are mentally soft.

Classic Payout on TC Moses, I'm certain you beat Bruce to the punch. Not by much though, he would have been a lot closer than Tom was to JP

We could compare it to last years footage to see the improvement

So I guess the original question is still there - would someone like to write a blog article showcasing the evolution of chariots? Perhaps look at his style both pre and post Shirvo and show how he's improved

Moses, I was a sprinter in a past life and have tried to keep abreast of training developments etc. I can offer some advice/words if required.

That would be superb TBH, if you're up for writing a blog article I reckon it'd be a real hit.

What to wright is up to you - perhaps the evolution of Tom Carter, or just take the piss out of chariots ;)

I think the main difference between the clip from the Shorks game and the kick chases against the Brumbies, and the other two clips is the distance involved.

The original Chariots clip was pretty harsh on TC. Chavanga is fecking rapid, and he was basically a metre or less behind Carter. Compare this to the Pietersen chase, where TC had about 15 metres to accelerate up to top speed.

I reckon TC has improved his speed and acceleration dramatically this year. He isn't lightning now, but he is at least passable and undeserving of his past criticism. Tho I can't help laugh everytime I hear chariots of fire played

If you are writing a bit, might be worth getting some footage of rod davies too, it has been written that part of his "rugby" problem is his classical running style.

If you want me to edit up a single movie too, I can do it.
