The goal-kicking stats are impressive. That is pretty much better than anyone going around.
Attack, defense, and vision of Carter???- we'll see.

Nobody in SA is comparing him to Carter. That would be ridiculous.

The simple reason we are excited about him is that he can kick, tackles like a flanker and is not scared to run at the line. We have not often seen those qualities in a ten.

Also it all doesn't seem to phase him one bit.

You're right, we'll see but I can tell you that this is the youngster that most South Africans have been the most excited about in many a year. I hope HM eases him in on the spring tour and doesn't rush him into RC now. Give Jantjes a go instead.

Based on this year's form Goosen may feel slighted.

Is he another Dan Carter? Time will tell. But in addition to all the qualities Blue mentioned, the Cheetahs backline under his control looked slick and dangerous. Name me one other SA province you could say that about. With players like Goosen, Jantjes and Lambie SA look to have found the talent to wake the potential in SA rugby. Look out if it does.

Maybe time will show up the faultlines, for Australia's sake I hope so. The biggest risk to him performing is the collective knowledge of backline play of all the SA coaches - kick and chase and defend like hell is the beginning and the end of their textbook.
