Nothing wrong with Bokke rugby, coaches or administration. Awesome EOYT. Steady as she goes for a smooth sail into RWC11 glory.

Don't do anything to change or you will jeopardise your long term strategy developed by PdV et al to regain Bill.

Nice try.

:)

Probably not far off the mark though.

Moses,
Don't get inside my reverse jinx.

There are significant changes required by Bokke at a number of levels if they are to have a serious chance at retaining Bill.

They are dangerous if they actually do make some of the changes. The best way for the Wobs to regain Bill is for the Bokke NOT to make any changes whatsoever.

Don't tell them that though.

That Pom test was a eye opener. When the Bokke bashed them and they realise they wont win the test, that newbies had the right look in their eyes, another Bok win coming up. You want to go in a WC tournament with players who has been there, done that before, not with a bunch of rookies. They choke at the big one. At least Snor have this one spot on.

The Boks are in an interesting situation right now. Their experienced blokes are starting to show signs of wear and tear and you wonder if they can go the distance through next year. A lot will depend on (like most teams) the key players in the pack being available: Matfield, Botha, BdP, Smith. If those guys are fit and firing, they are a real chance. If Fourie du Preez is also available, then you'd have to say they are better than a real chance, as his direction has been missed this year.

The problems appear to be in the backs, but I think the non-availability of J Fourie has been a lot of the cause of that. That said, I don't reckon the depth in the backs is anywhere near as good as in the pigs.

So the question is: can the old blokes raise themselves one more time? History would suggest no, but stranger things have happened.

I think the Bokke still have some cards up their sleeve. We know what Australia and NZ will bring but can't say that about SA after what they showed this year.

WP or Stormers and more specific Paarl Gym aint the SA midfield fabric for nothing. 2010 see the rise of Juan de Jongh. Played 12 with Jacque during the S14 and his preferred position 13 with Jean de Villiers. All three in the Stormers setup and pretty sure Juan probably will play all our matches and rotating between Jac and Jean to keep them fresh and hungry. Juan a rare one for SA with his stepping but outstanding defender and hopefull all three with Meisiekind (Wynand Olivier) enough backup for Jean and Jac. Hopefull we wont see AD Jacobs in a Bok jersey again. Some exciting new youngsters will come through in midfield in SA in 2011. Robert Ebersohn surely all the talent but we'll see the Paarl Gym dio of Johann Sadie and Klein Stokkies Hanekom going via Vodacom rugby. Jean Stemmet the other Gimmie playing for Griquas. 2010 Paarl Gym midfield just as talented with Christopher Bosch going to the Brutes to team up with the Grey Bloem and SA schools captain William Small Smith while Bosch team mate Kobus van Wyk will be playing for WP with the other SA Schools midfielder from Michaelhouse Patrick Howard.

Myself is pretty sure you are going to see a different SA U20 team. Dawie Theron just appointed and he'll make a huge impact in bringing the youngsters through. This is his squad currently busy

SA Under-20 Testing squad with their former schools in brackets

Tony Jantjies the Brute flyhalf brother of Elroy who played against the BaaBaas. Find out the other day both Jantjie brothers played at Paarl Gym a few years back and had to leave when their parents was placed by the Defense Force to Gauteng and Florida picked them up. Bradley Moolman the Brute midfielder from Monnas just as talented and a name to remember in future.
