AlexH I'd like to see that when it's done.

So for now we can say:

1. Goosen can kick goals like Steyn (and has been better this year).
2. He may or may not be as poor a defender as Steyn.
3. He kicks better than Steyn out of hand in 2012 which was not hard but Goosen kicked some pearlers.
4. He is faster than Steyn (a lot)
5. He likes to play flat to the line.
6. He has a very good pass - both ways.
7. He seems to take it all in his stride, albeit a little too cocky but that's not a bad thing.

Explain to me why that should not at least make us Saffers sit up and take notice.

I thought I made it clear in my first post that you should be taking notice of him and he would be a real contender for a starting position had he not buggered his shoulder. I was simply pointing out in my second post that his defense makes him a slightly less daunting prospect for a jumpy Wallabies fan.

I think if you look up just about any fly-half in the competition they will have missed a similar number of tackles.

Looking through the stats, Dan Carter even misses a couple of tackles a game.

For the future its bloody terrifying. Good props coming through, locks, backrowers, lots of good 10's, centres...... For the sake of the Wallabies I hope Meyer makes a mess of it by continuing to play kick and chase. If the SA team ever learns how to run with the ball they will be absolutely unstoppable.
