Watched the Provincial team (SIRU,Far Sth Coast & Monaro) go around against the Services team @ Duntroon on Sunday. They played well. A few guys a bit short of a run but that was quite excusable when you consider the GF was first weekend in September. There was nobody out there who shouldn't have been out there. The Services team had a couple of Shute & Premier players who were noticable either by size and or standout ability but their replacements were not as skilled which actually became their "Achilies". On the day the Provincial teams overall player ability base was more even from #1 to 23 and we saw a very good goal kicking display from the Olds player from Wales via Albury. The Provincial team was the deserved winner on the day. The ref was good and must be commended on not resetting scrums when the fronts went down and the ball was at or past the seconds feet. Great to see

I also went and watched the game - was a good overall game - to be honest I think through respect from for both teams the game should of been played either on the main oval at Duntroon or at Viking Parking - dont think the venue really did justice to the 2 teams...just my thoughts.

I thought the Provincial side looked great Jock Munro (I think his name is) is a great player and wouldnt look out of place playing 1st grade in Canberra, also the no.8 (even though he got knocked out) - the standout for me was the islander no.12 - he was fantastic - if I was a shute shield side or Canberra 1st grade side I would look very closely at this player.

All in all good game.

2 of the 3 you mentioned plus another 2 will most likely be running around in JID cup next season.

Brumbies Provincial v ASRU in Canberra, a good win for the Brumbies Provincial Team - ASRU is a serious scalp and I'm sure the services boys are smarting after that loss.

Scott Izod was the Referee in this match, I've been impressed with his efforts when I've had the chance to see him go round.

SIRU silly season is well under way. Plenty of rumored player, coaches & club movements & news. Anyone willing to confirm or deny or add....
Ben Leaper & Eddie Laggalli to Canberra Royals.
Pat Barrett back to Wagga Waratahs.
Tim Davidson to coach Young.
City, Albury & WAC to loose a number quality players.

Leaper and Lagaali old news. Olds and Meakin (Albury via Wales) will be at Uni Norths in 2014.

Will Corcoran join Barrett at Tahs, I heard the band were getting back together? Would you include Delaney, Roach and Maher in that lineup too?

Silly season indeed, I've even heard tales of a coach who will be looking after two teams. At two different clubs? How is this possible? Are you serious?

Looks like it's time to start up the #SIRU2014 thread already!!
