The offloading style is pretty adventurous and works well.

Against Scotland he did ten one handed offloads in a match, it wasn't until the 8th or 9th offload that he did a standard one rather than out the back of the hand.
So i'm not sure where you got the taking the ball to ground a bit more lol

He has been excellent so far but lets see how he goes in both the super comp and the tri nations before he overtakes either Nonu or Smith in the pecking order.

Want to see him go after both Stirlo and Burgo in the super comp next season after they embarrassed him in the baa baa's match

The reality is that he will be the biggest name sportsman in the country(and the biggest earner)
Nope. McCaw and Carter are still the Kings. It's always folly to mention earnings too, unless you are privy to his actual salary and contracted sponsorship deal pay outs?

Dunno about that. SBW transcends rugby.

Do you live in NZ? No. I can't speak for the whole of Upper and Lower New Zealand, But in my rugby-centric circles it's

McCaw and Carter -Revered.

SBW - talked about.

I don't think SBW is being paid that much.

That whole point of him being able to box was as a supplementary income.

He said 'will be'. He probably will be the highest paid kiwi sportsman the minute he signs to go back to Toulon wouldn't he? As for being the biggest name - I guess much depends on the next 12 months. He could very well injure himself...

No one doubts the esteem in which McCaw and Carter are held in NZ...

Saw an add on Foxtel advertising SBWs' upcoming fight on Mainevent.

Fighting Scott Lewis on 29th Jan. This is only 3 weeks before the start of the S15.

It's a wonder the Crusaders are allowing him to risk injury so close to the start of the comp.

Russell Crowe wants him.

RUSSELL CROWE has made an audacious attempt to lure Sonny Bill Williams to South Sydney.

Not content with snaring the prized signatures of superstars Sam Burgess and Greg Inglis, Crowe has spoken to Williams about the possibility of shifting to Redfern after the Rugby World Cup this year.

It's understood that Crowe proposed the move after being introduced to Williams by mutual friend Anthony Mundine.

Crusaders and All Blacks star Williams will become one of the most sought-after stars in either rugby code when he becomes a free agent at the end of the year. There will be no shortage of offers from NRL clubs - Williams was recently spotted dining with Parramatta coach Stephen Kearney, prompting speculation the cashed-up Eels are a contender for his services.

However, Crowe has displayed an uncanny ability to snare his man since taking over as co-owner of the Rabbitohs. Internationals Roy Asotasi, Burgess and Inglis have all joined the club after being wined and dined by the Oscar-winning actor.

Mundine was an influential figure in the Inglis deal and is also close friends with Williams. When Williams controversially walked out on the Bulldogs in 2008, Mundine offered to pay the compensation money demanded by the NRL club.

Mundine has also been helping the dual international prepare for his boxing bout against Scott Lewis on the Gold Coast on January 29.

The salary cap will again be one of the biggest stumbling blocks in Williams's potential return to league. The Inglis deal was initially knocked back by NRL salary cap auditor Ian Schubert and the Rabbitohs were forced to release local junior Beau Champion before it was ratified.

Williams, 25, could command upwards of $1 million a season following his selection for the All Blacks last year.

Hahaha.. considering they had to get rid of Champion to fit Inglis in under their cap they would basically have to sack every other player in their team to pay for SBW...

Not that he would - I think he resents the NRL anyway - and Toulon would take him back for a million and a half a year... Just another example of rubbish journalism.. these guys in the papers arent even trying anymore.

The road to saint hood appears to be paved with column inches

Ireland/Munster's Donncha O'Callaghan was going on UNICEF missions before it was cool.

But I'm more than happy to see them both doing this kind of work, and I hope it inspires more athletes to do it. Just their public profiles alone does a hell of a lot to help raise awareness and funds for those regions in need.

Imagine if O'Callaghan, Sonny Bill, and David Pocock teamed up.
