Players to watch:

P Armstrong - Great pass from halfback, exceptionally fit and very strong. Pete plays like an extra forward and will make plenty of line breaks from the base tonight.

X Chigwidden - Gifted ball player with a really wide pass from 10, can easily hit a wide 13 and has the deceptiveness to confuse defensive lines.

T Corcoran - Ex Easts 1st Grader will be hard to stop, his sizeable frame will cause problems for the Monaro defenders.

J Meagher - Lightning fast, creates tries from nothing, look for easy line breaks and good angled runners coming off him.

L Levett - Hard working breakaway with some really good support lines in attack.

M Roche - Ex NSW Country Prop will be the leader in the forward pack, work rate and organisation skills will go a long way to creating a solid platform for the backs to run off.

The majority of this team is made up from the Waratahs and Ag College teams that have toughed out the last two GF's here in SIRU (winning 1 each) with the remaining positions going to those players who are clear standouts in their positions at club level.

Monaro have won the previous two tournaments, but I think tonight will be a different story. Although the freezing climate may play into Monaro's hands a bit, I think this SIRU side has the quality across the board that they have missed in recent years.

Who is SIRU?
Ricky Dumigan also played 1st grade (albeit a few games) for Randwick. Extremely fit halfback who was a solid 2nd grader and should have played more 1st grade....

Ricky Dumigan is one tough hombre. Chris Whitaker's understudy, fitness machine, general all round good bloke!!

Ricky was Bill Harrigan's tour guide on the Kokoda track.

I play with about 6 of the guys in the Monaro team. Keep your eyes on the fullback - Sevu. He's a real excitment machine ball in hand. The hooker - Joel, has got a big ticker and will give 110% till the last whistle.

Bullrush - Do you know who the Monaro Coach was the past two seasons? I can't remember his name. He's in the Shoalhaven now. Briefly played Senior Rugby for QLD in the early days.

Monaro won't be eastbeats by any means. It'll be a good game!!
