I was a detractor to Eastwood at beginning of season due to how some of their players had been treated the prior year but they have played some phenomenal rugby this year and are great to watch, and then now I just read they have sacked their coach or not renewed him?

He's moving on. Don't know anything more than that.

Thats a big call to sack the coach 3 rounds to go and in finals contention. Clearly somethings gone horribly wrong...... Anyone seen a press release?

Yes,saw the release doesn't say much or any reasoning.
The coach comes in after building a successful colts program , Batger leaves cheque book in hand taking key players to Easts with him ,I believe Dave Telfer has done a great job over the past 2 years, hopefully he has found his next career step and not been replaced by the board.

I see Walton lining up at 10 for Gordon. He has a decent boot but you can assume it's a run first attitude this week. Pollack back for the Stags from the MLR as well at 15. That's a huge inclusion given his performance for them over the last few years

Eastwood played another great game of Rugby on the weekend. Considering the turmoil with the Coach effectively being sacked. I think a statement was made by the players and coach. I think a lot of quality clubs would like to be in the same position as Eastwood right now in regards to the table anyway.

We play the Rats and the Corporation - both away. We have done well. But my sad prediction is that we will lose both games.

The player points cap was introduced to spread the playing talent more evenly across the SS.

I don't see that it's worked all that well.

This year, for example (and this is not a criticism of Easts), Easts are minor premiers largely without the assistance of their 9 (?) Waratahs.
Good for them.

But they are now in a situation where they cannot play all their Tahs at the same time.
Not good for the fans, club, players, or NSW Rugby.

Is it time for NSW Rugby / SRU to be given the power to force clubs to release players they cannot use and / or direct players under contract to the clubs they must play for?

Should an additional player points cap be applied to all the players registered at a club, in addition to the weekly team cap?

Any thoughts?
