So you JP Sauni. Your pretty happy that Roach has left to go to Melbourne, and then your quietly happy that latu suspended... chances are, as a 2nd year tah, your close to being atleast on the bench at super rugby level.

BANG - Tahs sign Tatafu PN on a short term deal...

Now your playing club land all season.

Imagine being a super rugby contracted full time player, and you will never play for super rugby for that team.

4 weeks time and the first team lists for round 1 shute shield will be up. Based on all the rumours, confirmations, new coaches, lost players etc - who's gonna have a crack at guessing the how the shute table will finish after 18 rounds?

I'll have a go. I should preface by saying, no ill will or offence is intended by my guesses (because that's what it is a guess):
If your team is lower than you think...well in your case I hope your mob proves me wrong!

1. Syd Uni
2. Eastwood
3. Southern Districts
4. Norths
5. Manly
6. Warringah
7. Randwick
8. Easts
9. Gordon
10. Parra
11. West Harbour

Happy Shuting!

Gee I'd be very very different
1.Easts - noting uni just beat Easts in the first final 21 - 13. I think Easts are stronger this year.
2. Uni - then uni thumped everyone else
3. Souths - stronger than last year
4. Woods - consistant
5. Gordon - a war chest of $$
6. Norths - Impact of Cronnie moving on and another round of coaches
7. 2Blues - could finish higher if they pet 3 back to back wins
8. Rats - Impact of DC moving on
9. Wicks - interesting, I thought I'd have them higher as well.
10. Wests - just not sure

Yeah Yeah I know I left out my team - Marlins Burgers and under the radar

1. Manly
2. Daylight
3. Does it really matter?

But I'm not parochial or anything, I swear this is from deep, thought out analysis. DB understands:D

That's about it. Syd Uni are playing Uni of Newcastle in Colts at St Johns. Warringah have some fixtures at Narrabeen but they may even be internal trials. There are a few more fixtures next week on 16 March.

Who’s got a list of Darren Coleman’s captured Gordon crew for 2019? Heard he’s been red hot on the phones all summer

If it is a stupid move it won't happen. On the other hand, if it does happen there will be a lot more publicity for the poor little Shute Shield than it has had for years and years.

A much wiser man than I (and I suspect maybe he was a bit wiser even than some of the local experts) said "there is no such thing as bad publicity".

Maybe a few dozen more fans would tune in to the telecast. That would be a huge increase, eh?

Although dear old PT didn't live in the age of outrage as we now do. ;)

No word on Hayne. Just paid my Woodies membership, so I hope I am being kept up to date on this latest outrage!!!

Eastwood movements:

Players new to the club
Tayler Adams, originally for New Zealand, won the Catchpole Medal in 2017 when he played for West Harbour has returned from Melbourne after playing for the Rebels last year.
Ikapote Tupai who played for Tonga and Australia as an under 20 is a back rower also from the Melbourne Rebels/Rising camp.
Enoka Muliufi is a hard running number 12 who has come across from West Harbour.
Peter Schuster, who played with Pama Fou in the Australian Sevens, returns to rugby after playing league with Manly for the last three years. Peter is another back who will add to the talent available.
Jack Harrison half back from Randwick.
Tevita Alofaki centre from Gordon.
Seru Tabakauoro prop from Warringah.
Moi Kaukowonki a half back from Gungahlin Eagles ACT.
Mark Nawaqantia was a school boy last year and is in the Junior Wallaby squad as well as playing for the Waratahs Emerging side a couple of week's back. We hope to see him later in the season.

Retirements
We have lost another two players from the victorious 2014 and 2015 sides with Jared Barry andJai Ayoub hanging up their boots at the end of last season. Both have struggled with injuries over the last two years and their influence will be missed both on and off the field.
Players moving on
Hugh Roach has secured a Super Rugby contract with the Melbourne Rebels.
Tom Murphy is living the dream and is playing rugby in Ireland thanks to his Irish heritage.
Liam Windon has found work and personal commitments have made it too hard to make training and has moved on to his fifth Shute Shield club, Warringah.
Josh Nohra has moved back to Japan on a contract.
Steve Kirkby is having a break this year as his work and study commitments clashed with training.
Jamieson Clark has headed off to play in Spain where he previously played.
Wes Sefuiva, who moved to Manly at the beginning of last year and then came back has moved to Gordon.

Adams is a great pick up.
Apart from Roach they’ve lost nothing (Barry & Ayoub both had only limited impact last year)

I think Eastwood will win the comp. Thats an impressive squad. Interested to see how they go this weekend in first trial vs Gordon, wouldnt be surprised to see them put a cricket score on Colemans team.
