^^^Warringah looked very good today. Mark Gerrard doing a great job - the sort of coach that players want to play for. Knows a lot about the game and really is in tune with his players. He's doing a great job with the Rats as the above table indicates.

The Waratahs could do a lot worse than hire him to coach the Waratahs. I'd give him the gig in a minute.

Would have thought Rob Taylor would have to be considered. 3 consecutive premierships, in AUS {at least 1 undefeated) and I believe more going back in NZ.

He is a specialist backs coach as was Gibson.

I don't think Gibson was a specialist at anything. Just a good bloke who was a good player and knew a bit about rugby.

According to SUFC twitter, they are in a close one

Wouldn't dare go near another Kiwi coach of an Aus conferenc side. EVER.
(Unless they're the best).
(Which he's not).

Pretty tough couple of weeks to be an Eastwood fan. Warringah stole the game from underneath us a couple weeks ago and today Uni got a pretty big score on us which really wasn't reflective of the match. We're letting ourselves down by not converting a good amount of opportunities to points. Ironically the biggest chance today in second half turned into a fast counter attack and try for Uni.

Perhaps the strangest part of the match was after a try from Uni there was a scuffle between quite a lot of players which ended with 2 red cards (one a piece) despite, from what I could see, no punches being thrown or any real brawl. A similar scuffle had occurred earlier in First half so one can only assume the ref had spoken to both captains and given warnings. However I still thought the decision very inconsistent given the ref had also let a Uni player off with just a penalty after he absolutely nailed the Eastwood flyhalf late off the ball - there was no doubt in terms of scale which of the two incidents was greater foul play.

A Uni player was shortly sent off with a yellow card after the red card incident for a high tackle (also on the fly half..), however with only 1.5 mins left on the clock Eastwood just didn't have time to turn it around. In fact it turned into more points for Uni!

Anyway, credit to Uni given they absolutely kept their scoreline within a winning distance for 70 minutes, but certainly a strange way for the match to close! I'd love to have had a recording or listen to what the ref had said to actually armchair judge myself whether it deserved two reds!

Not surprised to see one of the Red Cards went to Uni 6, Swinton.
Serial offender.

He'd never fit in. He was wearing shorts at yesterday's game when every other man and his dog was rugged up with many, many layers. A howling wind, freezing temperatures, and he was in shorts.
Where were the RM Williams boots and Driza-Bone?

Girdler was in the 'row. Saved a certain try with an arm under the try scorer.
Wasn't he a backrower when he was at Scots? They must have had a huge pack back then.
Played Scots 2014 and 2015. Big teams full of talent. Back in the days of enrolment anomalies.

Shore went close to beating them in 2014 at the Hill. Could have won it on the bell.

I would have thought it would be better to stay with Gibson and take the time required to find the right coach.

Now they will be forced to sign who ever they can find.
