I like that optimism, too.
Gordon with the success of their Colts last year must surely come real good real soon.
Retention is key.
Yes a demographic shift has happened, but all rugby schools teach tradition, and Gordon has such good traditon that must be (sold to) entrenched into the youth that they coach. Why go to Uni or Wicks after scooling and playing in that Chatswood basin when they can wear the Highland tartan that they watched and cheered with their mum and dad?
WEAR THAT TARTAN.
And be that elk.
Don't be someone else.

If you get a chance QH..watch the recent Stags V Beasties game that was played in Orange...Gordon have plenty in the tank and my one eyed prediction is they will test and best many more fancied opponents in the second half of the season and make a strong push for a finals berth.

I watched that game on TV and yes they did play well that day. Still a way to go, but they'll need to get their skates on.

The Manly loss hurt Gordon. Had they held on, they would be in equal 5th. A win tomorrow and a loss for Easts (v Souths) would see Gordon back in the top 6.

No doubt that's true. We could also say that had Manly held on against Warringah and/or Eastwood we'd now be second. There's been plenty of close games this year - more than there has been for a while and every club has dropped close games that they could have won. That's sport.

Yep. Uni certs over Manly.
An at-home debacle. Uni now soul searching.
Facing The Woods at TG next week. Haven't had a win there since Noah first said it looked a bit like rain.
Never let the MMM supporters walk away from an away game with a smile on their faces...
Bum.

Come on mate, you will have all your many Soup players back, won't you?

Coach don't work that way. Enjoys banging on about youth and Colts stepping-up.
Uni youngsters doing too well to allow drop-in Soup-ers to take their spots anyway.
Could only be Nicky Phipps anyway, but I think he might like a rest.
No Soupers at back-end this year.
A Woods win again at TG.
And the TG hoodoo continues another year.
Rats the week after at RatLand.
Ouch.

A sensitive, caring rugby follower wouldn't rub it in.
However, i'll just say I. Told. You. So.

Anyone else feel uncomfortable about Freier playing 1st Grade? The way I see it is he's had his go and he did amazingly. Went to the very top and represented his country. He's a good player and I acknowledge he's about 100 times better than me. But I just don't think he should be in 1sts. He shouldn't even be in 2nds. Subbies would be a better fit. He's just blocking some other aspiring player from playing 1st Grade. For a lot of players 1st Grade is the pinnacle of their careers. To have some old bloke who's already achieved everything stand in their way is just not fair. He's had his turn now it's time to move on.

I wish more players came back to the game after playing professional.
If they are good enough to play ones they play ones and the aspiring players suck in all their knowledge.
We need to see more of it.

Wests have had bucket loads of close games this year as well - they'll also cause grief leading into the semi's

Great, hard fought win for the Stags over Wicks at Chatswood yesterday sees them climb another rung on the ladder. Went right down to the wire!

And you may be horrified to know, that just a kilometre or so away there are reports that there were Shore pies left over after the Shore v Scots game.

Holeeeeee sheeeet!!!!! Is this the end of the world as we know it QH ? First the evisceration of the AAGPS comp to its present “bread and water” 5 game structure and now the sad and gut wrenching news that a rumble (sorry I don’t know the collective noun for pies) of the worlds finest game day comestibles were left, “unloved”, on the warming racks. We all warned them that the change to the comp would have dire consequences and right there, staring dolefully from the warming racks, is the smoking gun!
