My mates at Intrust Super have a limited number of Finals passes for the Shute Shield to give away incl. the Grand Final.

You just have to message/DM the Intrust Super FB page, Twitter or Instagram accounts to snaffle them (that's their company social media site, not the Shute Shield one).

Better still, email Aaron on alee@intrust.com.au and he'll post some out.

Cheers

So manyPossibilities for the first week of the finals.

Are Uni building for another shot at the title
Have the Rats save the best for the back end of the season.
Will the MMM's get stage fright again
The young Wicks have no fear.
Are Eastwood the same side without Sio.
And the boys from the South ,are they ready to go one further.

Souths have been dudded again -- why are they playing at Uni Oval next weekend when they finished ahead of them on the table?

Why aren't they playing at a neutral ground with Forshaw not being available?

Uni Oval looked as pretty as a picture ... ... ... of a mud pit.

There must be a better oval (& neutral) to play the game at if Foreshaw is not available due to Colts Quarter Finals - Coogee Oval, or Concord Oval perhaps.

IIRC the process is that clubs apply to host semi-finals before the start of the seasons and the allocations are done well before the teams are identified.

Gregor George Cup (Club Championship) Result:
Some nervous folk at Uni No 1, St Pauls Oval, Rat Park, TG Milner, Kierle Oval and Manly Oval today as three clubs closely monitored scores and Bonus Points as the day unfolded. It all came down to the result of the two first grade matches.

There are a maximum of 215 points available to a club each week, based on all 7 club teams winning with a 4 try BP and the target to win is >3000 points which was achieved by 3 clubs last year. In 2014 the difference between 1st and 2nd was only 33 points, with 3rd only 52 points further back.

Sydney University, 2905 points
Eastwood, 2856 points
Randwick, 2743 points
Manly, 2504 points
Northern Suburbs, 2227 points
Southern Districts, 1933 points (up 1 place)
Warringah, 1918 points (down 1 place)
Eastern Suburbs, 1852 points (up 1 place)
West Harbour, 1788 points (down 1 place)
Gordon, 1753 points
Parramatta, 1223 points
Penrith, 221 points

How the Club Championship table is calculated.
The competition points from the individual competitions are multiplied by the following factors and then added together.
First Grade - 15
Second Grade - 8
Third Grade - 5
Fourth Grade - 4
Colts 1 - 6
Colts 2 - 3
Colts 3 - 2

The 49 point difference between Gold and Silver this year could have been made up from an extra 3 BP in Shute Shield and an extra BP in 4th Grade, or an extra victory with a BP in 2nd Grade and an extra BP in Colts 1 and Colts 2.

IIRC the process is that clubs apply to host semi-finals before the start of the seasons and the allocations are done well before the teams are identified.

The NSWRU advised a couple of weeks ago that the highest placed 1st grade teams would host each of the finals games provided their grounds were available. Given the fact that Forshaw had already been allocated all the colts games I would have thought that the NSWRU would have had a couple of neutral venues up their sleeves on the assumption that Southern would finish in the top 3.

What am I talking about --- of course they wouldn't do that. The corporation always seems to get a home game no matter where they finish. After all, Uni Oval is the worst wet weather ground in the comp and is always a cow paddock by this time of the year so why wouldn't you play a finals game there?

Do they still have Loig on Coogee Oval on Sundays? If so, that booking may have ruled Coogee Oval out as a neutral venue for a Sunday quarter final.
