A fair way to go and there has been some minor jockeying in the table but the usual suspects continue to consolidate their lead at the top of the table.
There will be further adjustments being made to the table after the postponed games are played over the June Long Weekend.
It is fairly tight at the top, and tighter than a ducks backside between places 6 and 10 on the table with 98 points separating the five clubs, three of which have some catch up games to play.
There are a maximum of 215 points available to a club each week, based on all 7 club teams winning with a 4 try BP and the target to win is >3000 points which was achieved by 3 clubs last year. In 2014 the difference between 1st and 2nd was only 33 points, with 3rd only 52 points further back.

How the Club Championship table is calculated.
The competition points from the individual competitions are multiplied by the following factors and then added together.
First Grade - 15
Second Grade - 8
Third Grade - 5
Fourth Grade - 4
Colts 1 - 6
Colts 2 - 3
Colts 3 - 2
The 33 point difference between Gold and Silver last year could have been made up from an extra 2 BP in Shute Shield and an extra BP in Colts 2, or an extra victory without a BP in 2nd Grade and an extra BP in Colts 3.

* Points yet to be allocated from washed out games in Grade 1-4 for Sydney University vs Gordon. Games are being played over June Long Weekend.

I did that last year where it was easy to mine the information off the NSWRU Shute Shield Results web site. The "old system" was much better for extracting that sort of data.
The new and improved rugbylink system is being used a little haphazardly by some clubs with important details missing which makes "proper" analysis difficult.
I might give it a go soon.
Interesting to see last years Try Whisperer, Bergelin, with only 3 tries so far. He has played all rounds (round 2 off the bench) less round 6 and 7, and got his 3 Meat Pies in the round 1 thrashing of the M2B. Nothing since.

The "pecking" order changes a little when you consider a Grade Only "Club Championship", although it is a rather fruitless exercise because the Club Championship judges the club as a sum of all its parts, giving a good indicator of that Clubs depth and programmes.

I think what it shows is what clubs have pathway opportunities for a clubs colts
How are the Randwick colts going to fit into a grade group doing well whereas there are great opportunities for Gordon Colts

The fairly talented players will look for greener fields when they graduate to Grade and see that there are some rockstar roadblocks ahead of them at their club that will prevent them from getting Shute Shield time. - Forget about the Player Point ssystem because market forces will ultimately undermine the "aggressive recruiting" programmes used by certain clubs.
It's always going to be a problem at all clubs. A player is only eligible for Colts for two years, and players are usually Shute Shield eligible for something like 4 - 8 years. The aspirational have to either recalibrate their expectations and bed down for a fair amount of time starting in second or third grade, and riding the pine for the higher grades, or register with a nearby club where they may get more love.
