Jim Williams ex Wallabies 8 and ex Assistant Wallabies coach being considered for Southern District 1st grade forwards coach
That would be a great addition

Jim's a nice fellow but didnt receive the greatest feedback from the players when he was at the Wallabies......

Any news on the Souths backs coach?

I did see that Tim Metcher is now playing with Randwick. It was in today's members email from the Tahs.
Without wanting to start a club war, can't Randwick start developing their own players without poaching from other clubs. I mean picking the eyes out of a sorry Penrith last year was like taking money from a beggar. Very poor form in my eyes.

Bad call Crashy, he came down as a kid to Randwick and played colts there.

uneducated eyes. What are you going to do if guys are looking to pursue a career in Rugby and see their best opportunity as moving to a more competitive club such as the case with the guys from Penrith. Worked pretty well for Richie Aho now plying his trade in france

Ok Pete, understand.
So no doubt by your comments you are 100% in agreeance with the unfair advantage (seen by some ) and subsequent dominance of Sydney Uni and the wonderful equalisation effect this has had on the Shute Shield in recent years.
Funnily enough you mentioned I'm uneducated but my Economics degree was done at Sydney Uni - oh the irony of it all!

So about 10 games with Randwick who lost quite a few was the reason he got a deal in France?
Nothing to do with his previous rugby efforts and being on the fringe with the Tahs.

Uneducated in that you had no knowledge of the facts surrounding Metcher and the players from Penrith but congrats on your degree big Man. I would also ask how the Uni program with scholarships and the like is similar to that of three players from penrith making their way to coogee?

That all helped. I reckon if I was trying to get a game Overseas and I rocked up as a player with Randwick that would get more recognition and interest than if I was a player with the Penrith Emus. Don't mean to discredit the Emus as I think they are doing well in a tough environment, just pointing out the difference in brand awareness. As they say "no one got the sack for buying IBM".

Making the point that unfortunately playing at Penrith wasnt doing him any favours would you agree?

Jeez Pete - being a little testy. I am no fan of Sydney Uni rugby and was simply stating that it was ironic that my degree was earned at Sydney Uni.
I call a Truce and we can all agree that the mighty Highlanders will win the comp next year!

Well at least we can agree on that (the not a fan of uni part), hope to see gordon do well. Saw a good clip of the S&C coach the other day and it looked like the boys were hard at it already.

That must be the reason how drew Mitchell got his deal in France
