Great work hey, Manly doing what they do well with the Grass Roots.

They were great with the kids on Feral Friday, and the boys had a great time didn't they.

Thanks guys and Manly. On Saturday - about a dozen of them on the fence on Saturday yelling out Hi Toni when first grade were warming up.

Those photos were kindly provided by the top blokes at www.ubfips.com.au rugby guys who provide a great printing service on the beaches - thanks guys they were a huge hit.

Hilarious interview with Ray Price on ABC today. Ray looking like he may have been enjoying the 1974 reunion day very much. He actually used the word 'bewindled' which is a word you don't hear much these days!

I noticed Ray Price was there quite early so he would probably have had a few under the belt by half time in firsts. Very courageous of the ABC to conduct a live interview but good fun and amazing that he played at 74kg against the ABs.

I played for Eastwood but these days I follow Wests. Some days at Concord after I've watched 56 chip kicks,101 dropped balls and endless missed tackles I think I must have rocks in my head!

Was Shaun Treweek in 2nds this week? Why?

74 kegs is a lightweight but "back in the day" the only blokes on the pitch that were 100 kgs (16 st) were the front row, and often one of them would be around 15-15 1/2 stone. Locks, were second rowers, and they were around 6'3" to 6'5" with real giants being 6"6" and above. These characters were invariably gangly types that would be in the 15-16 stone range.

Ray Price is evidence that it is not about the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

A number of players all over the place on the weekend - depth, niggling injuries, etc.

There is no entry in the Shute Shield team sheets for Mr Rudd from Uni after Round 4. (Uni v Marlins).

I am unaware of any citing/Judiciary appearance from Mr Rudd. As I postulated at the time, Uni may have taken unilateral action and dismissed him, or he may have sufferred a bad injury.

I have not checked lower grade team lists on the NSW RU Website to see if he appears in a lower grade team in rounds 5 to 8.

It was the Uni V Wests game that created all the discussion earlier in this thread. Shoulder, and late elbow with no cards given

DB were you at the Uni Marlins game?
I think he was replaced during first half after a hard (but fair) tackle by one of the Manly forwards.
There was also a bit of niggle between him and one of the marlins early in the game if I am remembering correctly.
Dont think he has played for any grade since, if Uni got rid of him they have done it the right way and not publicly aired their dirty washing, fair play to them if this is the case.

Yep I was there, he if I recall he was still on the park towards the end when Matty Lucas buried his shoulder into him in a great tackle.

Your comments about Uni doing it the right way, hoping so that is one of the reasons asked, it would be a positive note not dirty laundry note.

I think where the good Gunner is coming from is that if The Corporation have done the right thing by dismissing the lad, then there is no need for them to broadcast that fact to the world and make a big song and dance about it.

With only one Sin Bin against them so far awarded to them in First Grade (albeit Mr Rudd deserved at least a Yellow Card for his actions in the round 3 game), it is evident that they do pride themselves on playing a disciplined game.

There is a similar low card count against Uni in Colts, but it is very easy to avoid cards when the teams are winning lots of games by large margins.
