Sharks v Reds, 19th April, Durban

The torpedo

Peter Fenwicke (45)
Our most important game of the year. Lose this and we slip to 3-6 (which would effectively end any finals hopes). Win and we probably end up 8th/9th (depending on how other results go), 4-5 and giving us a half-decent launching pad.

What should we change in terms of selections/gameplan?

we are no chance without Kerevi.

Wouldn't be surprised if more get rested, potentially Liam Wright.

Maybe something like:

15 Stewart
14 Hardy
13 CFS
12 Paia'aua
11 Sefa
10 Hegarty
9 McDermott

8 Higgers
7 ASY (Angus Scott-Young)
6 Salakai-Loto
5 Hocking
4 Rodda [c]
3 Tupou
2 BPA
1 Smith

16 Mafi
17 Hoopert
18 Smith
19 Blythe
20 Korczyk
21 Sorovi
22 Tela
23 Campbell

Although I wouldn't be surprised (if we do rest Wright) if Korczyk starts with Salakai-Loto going into lock.

If you are resting Kerevi don't you just say fuck it and rest Tupou, Rodda and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) as well?

potentially. Rodda and Tupou have been rested though, and we don't enough enough coverage in the squad to cover all of them.

wow. So Samu's sticking around!

We'll have to rest him some day. I guess v Sunwolves is next most likely (or the finals...)

Hahah, I popped onto the Reds website wanting to check if Samu would be rested post bye-week and saw the announcement. Interns at Reds HQ must be itching to knock off early for the Easter break!

Tough game, we struggled against the pace of the north vaalies last week we really need to control the speed of this match.

Not sure how our record is at Kings Park, it used to be pretty good, probably now not so much! It is a magnificent rugby stadium, hope the boys soak it up and enjoy it.

Needless to say CMON QLD

Love having ASY (Angus Scott-Young) back in the lineup. Great workrate, and rough as nails.

Great start from the Reds. Wonderful run from Mafi from a bit of scrappy ball at the back of the lineout and a nice show and go from Hegarty to finish.
