& Samoa are out! its almost a curse winning it, thats now 2 out of 2 times the winner have not qualified for the final 8 in the next series, I mean chances are you will end up in the pool of death for the next series event. They will also fall out of the top 4.

USA women 10-0 Ireland at HT.

Winner goes into Aus side of draw, loser into NZ's. USA coach non-committal as to which he prefers lol.

Back of an old letter from the bank* projected women's QF:

1. Aus v Canada (best 3rd on PD)
2. USA v Fijiana
3. France v Ireland
4. NZ v GB (2nd-best 3rd)

* therefore far more accurate than the back of the envelope it came in and/ or any napkin known to mankind.

Very ordinary crowd in Hamilton, maybe forgive this as completely out of season for rugby. Will be interesting to see what crowds they have in Sydney next weekend.

^ Women's RWC hype seems to have faded rather quickly. Was certainly expecting better.

Edit: hopefully the non-arrival of the predicted crap weather might encourage a better turnout tomorrow.
