Why are they deserved favourites

we're coming off a record win v Wales (who Scotland beat by a point), and a terrific win v England

Scotland have only played against one Tier 1 side since March where they failed to score a try

They also barely beat Uruguay and lost to Italy

We beat them last time in Scotland not long before Rennie got sacked

if we lose it’s because of the same inconsistency and inability to win close games not because they’re a much better side
Yeah I kind of agree. They lost to South Africa pretty convincingly and people were patting them on the back. We lost to South Africa and Rugby in Australia was dead apparently

Just shows the actual expectations of Scotland

Their front row is better than ours
Disagree to be honest. Ashman and Faessler is at worst a wash, and IMO the difference between Bell and Schoeman is bigger than the difference between Fagerson and AAA.

In any case, the two teams are pretty evenly matched IMO - they are favourites because their at home, have more experience and have Finn Russell - who is the biggest difference maker on either side.

Oh fuck off. Scots are a proud rugby Nation. There's no respect to the game in shit comments like this.
They can be as proud as they want, he’s right. They lost to Italy this year, that nonsense got a Wallabies coach fired

I’m sick of the Home nations having this unearned arrogance

Watch our scrums get monstered then tell me which front row is better

Looking forward to seeing Potter play - although far from ideal conditions. I liked what I saw from him for the Force. Wing is a position where we have some solid options without anyone being a game breaker at the moment (although Jorgenson has potential and Kellaway has enjoyed a very timely bounce back to form).

Scots are rightfully favourites. They have a good all around game and we will not have been tested out wide like this since the Bled. games.
Hope we can get up.

Just watched (re-watched, actually) the '84 Grand Slam vid. I remember these games from the time, and a lot of what is said in that video regarding the cohesion, focus, application and approach to how they would play rings a little true with the current team / squad.
Should the current crop go on and do the same, it would be possibly an even bigger story. It's a bloody hard thing to do.The growth and progress with this squad under Schmidt has been wonderful to see. We need to appreciate that.
Geez, that '84 team was good. Some all-time greats in there. And what a pack.
