I'm interested in scholarshipping in general, not just the AAGPS.
There seem to be all sorts of interesting player movements within the Qld GPS system based on banter on the Qld GPS thread. The Qld GPS schools seem to have given up on trying to control scholarshipping.
What about rugby scholarships within the ISA and CAS, or the ACT system for that matter? It doesn't seem to be against any code of conduct that I have seen, and doesn't seem to be as widespread as in other associations but does it happen according to sideline gossip.
If it is occurring in these associations, is it self regulated with just a small number of kids involved, or is there wholesale importing. Some schools were accused of assembling super teams to extend their unbeaten Waratah Shield run only to have the organisers amend the rules to prevent them from participating.
Are the CAS & ISA schools net losers of player talent to the more prestigious AAGPS association, or is it the CCC and CHS associations that are the provider of cattle to the AAGPS arms race? I think the latter, but then there are examples of Augies (ISA) ->Scots (AAGPS), - scholarship status unconfirmed but Manly to Bellevue Hill is a long way to go without some form of incentive.
