Interesting point about St Auggies in ISA and scholarships. IIRC some of their boys find themselves in other school associations from time to time. Guess the Peninsular is not always so Insular.
On the ISA (and CAS) front, there are some in the ISA and CAS that allegedly indulge in this practice of importing talent/inducing enrollment/subsidised fees etc.
I am sure that it is against a code of conduct somewhere, but I have been unable to find any evidence of said code on their web sites (both of which I might add are rather user unfriendly and not world dominating). It is hard to jump on my hobby horse when I don't know what ruling the schools may be in breach of.
One thing about Auggies keeping some of the Manly/Warringah talent in the ISA system means that there is at least some viable competition from the ISA for the CAS, GPS and CHS. Without a strong Auggies, Oakhill, St Pats and Stannies would have to do a fair bit of heavy lifting for that association.
Is it time for a merit divisionalisation of Sydney Schools in 1st XV and 16A's, with the rest of the teams remaining in their current associations?
