You can review each individual from the current 1st XV team but yes they are. Most are on half scholarships relating to certain aspects of the scholarships that Newington College offer. I am not disheartened or arguing what I have posted I am just simply stating what it is. There is nothing wrong or bad about this years currnt 1st XV but it was just interesting to show and know.

As I understand those of your posts that have been capable of being understood in the past
  • you are a New OB
  • you have relatives @ New
  • you have sources @ New
Correct?

I would be interested to see info on other schools.

Also I was told by someone that the King of Tonga [in this 150th year] is picking up the tab on several kids fees [despite apparently being a bit strapped]... but that is possibly complete rubbish [although the source does have a Pacific Island connection]

but it does lead to the question, of "what is a scholarship"?

I have heard of individuals at St Augustines where they were scouted, and basically got to continue paying their existing lower school fees [from the first catholic school]

which leads me to the question, "what if a parent (say a Mr J Packer) decides to pick up the tab on a few mates kids fees

take a look at the Cranbrook 12As ... unusually strong ... could it be the case ... you wouldn't know ... and the King of Tonga is not the old rugby mad bloke :)

Only two from New not on scholarship really? Not taking anything away from the New boys who are quality all the way........... how would you feel if you were one of the 13 that should have been in the side if it were organic ......... i dare say livered...............

Absolutely......but there's one thing that's worse for these boys and boys in the same position at other schools and that's watching the scholarship boys ahead of them miss tackles, drop balls, kick out on the full, not put in etc....but never get dropped!

Liver an important part of a national dish
Does livered mean you were fed it or had it removed
Either way just asked lads in Scott's seconds next July

What New should take from last week is that Scots showed you cant buy passion, import the boy put the jersey on but what does it really mean to him? I would suggest allot less than his rightful organic shadow in the lower team........

You can have my liver but you can never take my freeeedom!!!!!

I do agree with you about the passion however
"Rightful organic shadow" is a bit off. If it is truly organic then the rightful will take their places in due course.

They cant take their place if an import is dropped in front of them, work you way through the 12a's, 13a's, 14a's, 15a's, 16a's then get relegated to the 2nds by an import ............... hard to see how you will get your place in due course unless there is a year 13 at school?
