Can't wriggle out quite that easy Gaggs, you were a big defender of RG's with many an eloquent explanation as to how all the Force's 'historical problems and inherited constraints' were the explaining variable of RG's clear and consistently poor w-l ratio over 1.5 seasons.

That same ratio trend was evident when he left, and one would have thought his mark upon the Force would linger on - for the good or the bad - for a few more games.

The Force 'inheritance' for RG in early 2011 was by no means worse that that incurred by J White from the Brums in early 2012, in fact, I'd argue it was much better, eg Pocock, JOC (James O'Connor), Sharpe, and a generally proven forwards pack, etc.

RG I concede though is a charming and engaging man. He garnered praise quite independent of any measurable or notable achievements in Aus rugby, rather like Robbie up to 2011.

For someone trying to effect radical change, I'd say White had a better inheritance in that he had almost no big names slotted on 3-4 year deals, allowing him pretty much free reign.

Yes, RG inherited a great pack, which has continued to get them within a losing bonus point with incredible regularity. It's the backs we've been beating him about and I don't believe he had the room to radically reform as any of us would have liked to have seen.

Having said all that - RG certainly doesn't have the runs on the board. To be proven.

Just saw the game, how the fuck did the touchie come to the conclusion what Ma'afu did affected the try being scored? He should be stood down immediately.

Well done to the ref for actually asking that question - not his fault.

Pocock's captaincy did not impress, turning down the 3 when down by 4 from in front for a scrum is criminal.

Just watched the game again and my feelings about the refereeing display haven't changed. Its amazing how the touch judge can see Mafus arm around the blokes neck but miss hodgson getting DDT out if the match!

The Cheetahs player has been cited. I think it was their lock who committed the offense. It is easier for us to pick up stuff because we got the luxury of lots of replays and such. Also when a player is doing something wrong but not interfering with play the refs have been instructed to let it go. If they blow for every little infringement that is not interfering with play there would not be much of a rugby match.

I wouldn't call what Ma'afu did was a 'little infringement', I stand by my earlier comment that had the referee seen it, he would have blown the whistle straight away as it is classed as a dangerous play which has to be stomped out (pun unintended), and that try would have not happened. It just befell on that AR to call it as such and the referee had to go along with it.

Sorry Nus but what I meant with little infringement I am referring to non dangerous play situations which can be sanctioned with a penalty like players entering the side of the ruck etc etc. Dangerous play off course interfere or not it is foul play and against the spirit of the game.

Also did you guys know that the referee in this game Stuart Berry and the referee in the Bulls/Rebels game, Stuart Lees was refereeing their first Super XV matches? Both of them were débutantes.

Neck. Nothing in it. Call it a "little infringement" :)

Sanzar are looking into Stuart Berry because it was so one sided in penalties. He was very inconsistent to say the least and I was amazed the force were still in the game at the end and should of won. If you look at the penalty count we should of got murder. 7 to 18. Jesus Christ.

But look how many early penalties the Force gave away at tackle ball situations. Entering the ruck from the side. Offside at the ruck. Hands in the ruck. Scrumming in at the angle. Half of those penalties were almost before the 30 minute mark. Did the referee act according to the laws?

:D can we get him to move out here? A spring, or fountain of little du Randts' would be an excellent thing for AUS rugby
I found this quote from Richard Bands relating to what PB said

You know in Bloemfontein Os (du Randt) is just below the mayor so people have really rubbed it in, but we'll meet again.

most of them were fine to call on but I thought the cheetahs did the same things at times. Just inconsistency.
