The Cheetahs still biting their ears after dropping last weekend matche vs the Clan. They sure will have to hit back and the Force will have to be on the recieving end on saturday. Pretty tragic after loosing Goosen, who was about to make the stepup to international colours but thats part of rugby.

Where Os du Randt stay. The have renamed Bloemfontein to Osfontein.
haha Bloemfontein in the States The Freestates heard that one where they made fun it.

The Cheetahs like to rack up the points and this one should be no different. They must just learn to close out games and the coach must use his bench right to replace the tired players when it is the right time without effecting the fluency or the outset pattern of his team. They did well against the Highlanders but went pair shaped as Goosen went off. They still a young squad and they did panic a bit but they will learn from their mistakes and gain experience in such a manner.

The Force might decide to join in the spirit of the game and give the ball some air. But they have to take them upfront. That is where the force are lacking a bit. But it should be close not more than 10 points.

The Cheetahs defense is their downfall. They leave holes as big as Kimberleys Groot Gat. PoCock vs Brussouw should be an interesting battle.

Hard game to pick. Cheetahs have been playing some good rugby and been very unlucky in a couple of game, particularly against the Highlanders. The trip away may do the Force some good, give them a chance to bond. Heart says Force but I think the Cheetahs could get up by 6 points. Will wait to see the team line ups.

At last the first Force supporter joins in. The Cheetahs teamsheet is up. I am not that convinse about them, they made me throw a few empty beer tins at the TV on saturday with their poor defensive effort.

The cracks start to show when later on when they get tired. Why sub guys after 45 min? Do we have 1 half players now and I see a lot of the teams do it. They made 3 subs where Goosen was the forced one on the 50 min mark. The others were on 45 min. The Highlanders knew it was high altitude and made 6 of them. They scored and suddenly had a bit of momentum and fresh legs. They scored again. There they should have brought some fresh legs on but waited till it was 30 all before making one change. They made 4 subs 1 forced on 58 minutes. 2 minutes later everything started to went pair shaped. I think they should have delayed those subs and brought them on when the Highlanders made theirs. They still had 2 to use as well which they never did. I mean when a team scores 2 tries in two minutes and 3 in 10 its normally a good sign of tired legs out there.

Better than on Saturday here in Perth against the Stormers. I was trying to keep my beers out of the rain, only choice was to drink them fast. Yeah the Cheetahs need to tighten up on defence but then again the Force haven't been doing much on attack so it may not prove a problem. Maybe this will be the game Nalaga fires for the Force and we know the Honeybadger will be up for a big game....it's like he's returned to his spiritual home.

But how many games have the Force played in where there is a nice dry field which have kilometers of running written all over it. Not to worry about the dew so much and they will have some natural light as well.

Compare them to the Stormers defense. Myself thought Vermeulen would be a massive blow defensive wise but nothing changed. Carr even look more busier then him. You simply cant wait on defense against the NZ sides, you need to rush on defense and take them back, creating pressure. The Cheetahs dont do this and its costing them game after game.

Yeah looking forward to this. It should be a pretty open game giving lots of turnover opportunities.

Cheetahs focus on defence

2012-05-03 20:00

Cape Town - Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské will be hoping his team shows more commitment on defence when they host the Force at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Last weekend the Cheetahs missed too many tackles in their 36-33 defeat to the Highlanders, especially in the last 25 minutes, when the visitors were trailing 30-9.

A week earlier, the Cheetahs conceded five tries as they lost 39-33 at home to the Chiefs. Even in their impressive round six victory over the Hurricanes in Wellington (47-38), they conceded four tries.

Even though the Force have not been the most prolific try-scorers in 2012, the Cheetahs will not take Saturday’s match lightly.

The Force have only scored 17 tries, the same number as the Reds, and only one more than the Stormers (16), the Blues (15), and the Rebels and Lions (12 each).

“By this time we all know there is no such thing as a good or a bad side,” said Naka Drotské.

“The Force showed last weekend against the Stormers that they have a good defensive pattern and that they can attack. They are a very physical team and if we want to win, we’ll have to be 100% switched on.

“In the last 20 to 30 minutes last week, some players made individual errors on the defence that cost us. This week we’ve worked very hard at eradicating those mistakes.”

Goosen is a big loss for the Cheetahs. Good to see Sam Wara back on the wing for the Force. He has shown some promise when given a chance. Can't stress it enough for this game, Nalaga mate...time to wake up and score some tries for us. Pocock, Hodgson and Brown will be at their usual combative best and get us plenty of ball, it's just a matter of whether we can use it and put enough points on the board.

The Force have possibly their best team on the paddock

The Force have a good record against the Cheetahs. It's amazing how these patterns develop between teams.

We always believe.
