Happy for Uruguay, but absolutely infuriating watching that Fijian side.

Can't understand how this is even possible, and it doesn't bode well for South Pacific Island rugby.

Money can't be the excuse as Uruguay are mostly amateurs.

Haha what the fuck that's brillo.

More of that please. Is that Uruguay first ever world cup win?

It's pretty much Fiji B isn't it?
The schedule is pretty tough on them

From the Wallabies game they retained 3 starters and had 5 other starters on the bench. 6 of the bench started against Uruguay and the 2 other bench players remained on the bench.

So it involved 16 of the same 23 players (just about the minimum given there are only 8 other players in the squad) but was just about as much change to the starting XV as possible.

Scheduling aside, they were extremely complacent.

All of Fiji side bar one of two are European professionals.

Uruguay makes South America very interesting, imagine how good Brazil could be when you factor in population and the fact they dominant combat sports. They are naturally/habitually combative.

Yep, I reckon the 4 day turn around was very instrumental. The second XV were quite undisciplined and the bench players who had played against the Wallabies looked cooked. But Uruguay played above out expectations, especially in defense.

Think I heard in commentary that Uruguay have only 6000 registered players.

4 day turnaround is shocking but fiji bombed 5000 try scoring opportunities. Stupid attempts at offload, not passing, passes way behind the player.....
