Quade on the bench is the interesting one. Wonder if they're trying to get him to 60.
Good decision. Anyone can go down at any stage and giving Quade another 20 minutes of game time at 10 could be invaluable if he is called on at a later stage. Much safer subbing in a winger that hasn't played for a few weeks.

I have been fairly critical about Benny Macs overall impact in test games in the past, but last week he shoved all my doubts so deep into my throat that they came out from the other end.
I am expecting a huge game from him.

We'll be in trouble if an outside back incl. 13 gets injured.

We'll be in trouble if two go down. Otherwise, Foley has played plenty of fullback and could comfortably push Kurtley to the wing (where he played well against England), which would free up AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) to play 13 (where he has played well in the past).

Cheika will have a plan.

I'm surprised it's not Speight just because he can cover wing and 13, and we already have To'omua to cover 10

How much more time do they give Horne before sending him home?

Foley, Mitchell and Quade can all cover 15 along with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Beale on the wing last week was OK and Quade could do something similar.

They key for us this week is to take it to them up front from the opening whistle and try and break them early in the set piece and at the breakdown. We don't have a recognized fetcher in the pack but Fardy was pretty good at it last week as were several other forwards and backs.
Big game for Michael Hooper.

I think we can safely shelve the Speight for 13 plan. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is the back up. We probably could have easily brought another centre instead of one of the wingers. I guess no-one really put their hand up. Kerevi maybe?

It would have made more sense to use Speight unless the plan is to get Cooper some game time at 10 to keep him an option if Foley goes down.

Horne? he trained doing contact work this week, he must be close enough and Chieka appreciates his points of difference

Speight is as good a 13 as Kerevi at the moment and Cheika clearly wants a second play maker at 12, so To'omua and Beale are already 12 cover

I think that Speight and Tomane are regarded as out and out wingers within the squad. There is plenty of wing cover within the 23 and Cooper offers a bit more versatility, plus a bit of a run around should something happen to Foley.

Two players I am expecting to step up big time for this game:
- McCalman
- Kuridrani

Hadn't thought of Foley @ 15 - Foley & QC (Quade Cooper) sharing the 10 / 15 space, and KB (Kurtley Beale) to wing sounds right.

TBH I don't see many issues with the line up. I think Cooper does ok off the bench it's when he's started that he's had problems. Having said that, it needs to be managed well and he come on at just the right time (but that's just Capt. Obvious speaking)

Or to get Foley off and away from potential injuries when the game is safe in the keeping.

It's a good squad. All the positions are covered:

Foley 10, 15
Giteau 12, 10, 9
Kuridrani 13, 11, 14
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14, 13, 11, 15
Mitchell 11, 14, 15
Beale 15, 12, 11, 14
To'omua 10, 12
Cooper 10, 12
