RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

It is a skill literally any player can develop, too. But there's no point complaining about the systemic inadequacies of Australian rugby at the pointy end of a RWC. Unless you are Pfitzy.
Anyone can develop it, but you also need to do it in actual games. And there are only 5 Aussie sides and therefore 5 first choice kickers at club level. And I'm presuming none of those players are in the squad.

If your 10 necessitates picking Ben Donaldson at 15, maybe you should have just picked a #10 that can kick? I'd rather have Quade+Kellaway than Gordon+Donaldson. Sorry Gordon, but a 10 that can't kick is like a prop that can't scrummage.

It's too bad there isn't another kicker in the squad that's actually good enough to warrant a spot in the XV.
How about just barrack for the team and quit your negativity. You’re right. I don’t have to read it. Good call.

You’re not the go to man for rugby knowledge. I don’t think Stephen Larkham or Mark Ella were goal kickers?
I'm being facetious (a bit). It's all good if you have another kicker on the pitch. And they aren't there strictly because the 10 can't. Hopefully Gordon offers the same as Larkham in the non-kicking department.

Mate, I think we get it. By we I mean utterly everyone. Could you let it go a bit? We haven't even played yet and some of us are not looking for determined consistent negativity.

Check out rule 10. https://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/community/threads/welcome-to-g-gr-history-and-rules.7341/

Gordon is NOT a bad kick, i'll grant you not yet consistently reliable, but the misses in the previous test were close and with some practice i believe will he will be a good enough kicker to average the 75% necessary at test level. FWIW i wouldnt pick Donaldson at FB just because he might be a marginally better kick at goal. Eddie is either a genius (well at least a divergent thinker !) or has completely lost it, we will all know soon enough.

Go the wallabies. Looking forward to some late night viewing. I feel optimistic that we have the youth to have a good go at this tournament.

Tournament rugby is vastly different from other games and Eddie has a load of experience to get the best out of his players.

Why do I feel this game will be very close. The way we have been playing, it's most likely going to be tight and then wallabies run away 30-17 in the last 20.

Lots of people think wallabies will win by a ton which I find interesting.

After watching France NZ (slow, set peice, lots of kicking) this tournament will not suite us at all.

The box kicking is becoming a problem as well. This snake ruck bullshit is slow and boring. Use the bloody ball. France, Ireland, South Africa all do this so well. I would like to see soemthing change with how many players can be bound in a line. Its probably just me but I think it slows the game down and doesn't create a good game to watch. The France NZ game wasn't a great game to watch. It was ok, not great

I cant see this changing. However i agree, slows the game right down and while tactically theres a ot of value in it, you can just hear all the casual rugby viewers yelling at the screens in confusion "why'd they kick the ball away again?!"

On the plus side its great to see Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) flying through the air.

Interesting to see I heard someone mentioning the penalty counts for southern hemisphere teams which smacked them around in spring tour last year

1 game in with ABs and France and the count favoured France 14 to 4

We can see what one yellow card did to the All Blacks this morning. Their media is going off because that's two games in a row. We need to have a zero tolerance of YC's going forward.

Late in the game France awarded a penalty near half way. Replacement hooker (I think) took a tap from in front of the mark and Jaco allowed play to continue. Put France in good position territory-wise late in the game. Thought play should have stopped for a scrum or retake of the penalty.

Sorry - wrong thread. Ignore.
