RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Fiji - Monday 18 Sep 2am AEST

Donaldson is going to need to work on his tackle technique as the Fijians will seek him out. I would start Kellaway at 15 with Donaldson on the bench to replace Gordon if he is not on target.

Yep - been pretty impressed with his media duties too. A reluctant leader, but he's really stepping up.
Agree, apart from one thing that annoys the hell out of me. Can we just thank or congratulate the opposition? Skelton is not our only captain who doesn't do this.

I'll take it. Though I hear fans suggesting McReight might be stood down for a bigger body. I wouldn't but I'm listening.

Edi: I think you've got the 9s right. Also think you have Faesslar right though his throws have me seriously wondering.
If he puts Gleeson out there in place of McRight many here will be cheering, I will stay with the small group of 'don't knows' with reservations.

It would be surprising if Faessler is dropped - his throwing is consistently strong, with that performance being an anomaly. The throws themselves were actually decent iirc, just appeared mistimed and/or miscommunicated. Equally as likely that the pack were stuffing up the lift

Had Arnold also come off at that point?

I assume Hooper may have taken over the calling in that instance...

If Arnold is starting again against Fiji I reckon they need Frost on the bench.

I’d go the bigger 7s (Kemeny, Gleeson) to start this one and try stop the direct momentum.

McReight maybe off the bench or more suited to getting in the ruck v Wales.

I also can’t see how Arnold is remotely useful in this game. He’s a target to be run at with late footwork. Bring Frost in to start. Phillip on the bench and Leota on the bench.

I would start Frost over Arnold, but either way we must have a lock on the bench. Apart from that, the same starting pack. Don't know about hooker on the bench, probably go Faessler again but throwing has to be better. I would probably have Gleeson as the back row cover, but am fine with Leota.
In the backs I would definitely start IFL, White fucks around at the back of the breakdown way too much and we lose momentum. I'm sticking with Donaldson at 15. Yes, Kellaway's a better footballer, and Donaldson's defence really worries me, but we have to be able to kick our goals. White, Foketi and Kellaway for the bench.

OK. It's not how I have seen it. In that last game at least three throws from 4 were to the front, only one hitting target. Yes he has to work with the bench in the lineout. He is after all the bench hooker. Wherever the issue it isn't acceptable at this level. Note that timing is an issue shared with the hooker and communication had the lift in the right spot act time.

I am still worried about our centre pairing. Kerevi looks well below 100% and Petaia had good moments but drifts in and out of games. But they are still the best option. At least if we pick Kellaway at 23 he can also cover outside centre in case something goes wrong there, but will need Foketi on bench as well to cover Kerevi so definitely need to go 5-3 split.

Any idea why Botia and Tuisova were on the bench v wales? Crazy having that fire power waiting to come on. Tuisova made a huge impact coming off the bench. Going to be a big night for whoever is defending in the centres up again Radradra and co.

If the Fijians are "seeking him out" they have run through the whole defensive structure - that could be described as a bigger issue

Donaldson will be there because he kicked his goals and didn't play shit, every 15 misses tackles in that last line
