To be fair, a lot of other teams are starting to see injuries as well. Surely we just limit Skelton’s minutes and keep Nela on ice until it’s do or die

For all the talk about how Eddie didn't want to undermine his young players, and one of the key reasons for the omission of Foley and Cooper. He done exactly that to Gordon and Nonggorr bringing in Donaldson at 15 and Slipper at TH ahead of them.
interesting take. You of all people I would have thought would be applauding the choice of a guy to bolster our goal kicking and I also thought you’d be strongly in favour of picking the 131 test veteran in front of the 3 game rookie in a must win game.

I’d be very surprised if either Gordon or Nonggorr were losing any sleep. Gordon remains our first picked 10. Nonggorr couldn’t possibly have an issue with Slipper getting the staring gig in front of him. I mean, I’m sure he’s itching for the chance but he’s getting good experience off the bench that he probably never thought he’d be a show for 4 months ago.

I've never seen a team lose so many players in mid-week/pre-game. Maybe they should lock the team in a padded room in between matches and slip food through a slot like they are in prison.

No this isn’t what I’d do. This was Eddie’s own reasoning and I’m calling out it’s bullshit.

But also, I don’t faith in Slipper at LH why would I have faith in him at TH? He’s been destroyed all year.

He doesn’t really have adequate experience at TH either to be considered over Zane.

My point was Eddie said he excluded Foley and Quade to give confidence to Carter but he’s done the opposite here.

I still would’ve picked them.

Headlines such as 'World Cup campaign in peril' are just clickbait. Even if Skelton has to go home (which I doubt) we have adequate cover there, and bigger pre-existing issues than the loss of a second rower, albeit our captain. Personally I just think they are being very conservative with injuries during the pool stages so that we go into the quarters with as strong a team as possible.

Exactly all these articles are laughable.

Speak for yourself, I was the first one to rubbish the calls about Fiji beating Aus but without Tupou and Skelton we are really up against it. They're our two best, most important and irreplaceable players. Our dominant scrum goes to getting smashed, our defensive maul goes to being useless now. We lose massive carriers and ruck shifters. We're in huge trouble.

Fiji should win this now.

Fiji are panicking. Their 10 is average and now they have acknowledged their 12 is average by moving him to the wing. New defensive line and our back-row will have a field day before our backs put on the polish. We will play at a different speed to Wales. Fiji under huge pressure. A few high balls and they will be like jelly.
