Resolute maybe. But against other tier one teams with a more clinical attitude, 13 men would've been disastrous. That would be regardless of defensive prowess just simple maths and tactics.

Yeah, I don't deny what you say. That said, 2 yellows in a couple of mins is pretty uncommon, so the Wallabies did what they could - smashed everything that came their way.
You're right, it does boggle the mind that Wales couldn't come up with anything.

Why the hell would we consider fielding anything but our best available team in a WC semi. Even the injured players will play so long as they get past fit, IMO.

I rate us to beat Scotland, and I have confidence I our depth, but no way in hell should we take them for granted and the outcome is a disaster if we fall short.

There's no mention of it on Twitter. Only that pocock might be in doubt for the quarter with a calf injury.

Just for a week, right? The team can beat Scotland without Izzy and Poey but we need them for the semi-final against Argentina, Ireland or France

It's gonna come down to how wales go in first 20 mins. No time for the expermental backline to settle. Australia will send it wide from the off. If we're 14 or more down its gonna be a helluva climb to get back. If it's close at half time we ll win

Why did you think you'd win if it was close at half time? Surely the impact the wallaby bench has been having would give you some pause for thought?

You only have to remember what happened in Newcastle a couple of years ago. Underestimate Scotland at our peril.

Cap'n Squeak will lead the Men in Gold to victory over the Single Malts next week as he joins the Test Centurions Club.

One man's sweet is another man's bitter. But unless you've got another angle or extra footage I don't think it'll get a second look because its the delayed holding on to Pocock's foot that causes the contact.that causes

That 10min period 2 man down was intense, even though Genia got 10 he most Likely stop a certain try. Gave the lads time to get sorted, mumm penalty was stupid but pissed me off that Wales only got a sin bin offence in the last 6min.

Wales should have had guys in the bin earlier, and they were warned and nothing happened when they did get pinned except another warning. And you could see Moores frustration.

F bomb ...... I FUCKING LOVE SCRUMS AGAIN. And it's huge, wallabies had a lot of points put on then thanks to our scrum. Now they are putting point on for themselves.

Cheika and all coaches doing there job.

Only concern is the back line doesn't look like making many line breaks and getting over the advantage line against a well drilled offence side. They Still play really deep, which was always a Quades problem apparently. Times Lost a lot meters being so deep and loose passes going to ground. Recovered well, but shouldn't happen.

Still a lot of work to be done, and even though goal kicking will be important, so will scoring meat pies.
Our World Cup million $ saviour and promotion boy izzy, has In my opinion been pretty uneventful. Like to see him hold onto the ball when he makes a break instead pushing a pass and the ball going lose on the ground and catch a high ball like we all no he can do.

Over all in the game, defence was shit hot, scrums awesome and would have been happy to see meat. But at the same time 10 drop goals would have made me happy just to win this game and avoid the finals run death.

Letting a couple of players start from the bench this week does not equate to under estimating Scotland. This is the only chance we will have to let a couple of our star players overcome some niggling injuries and I believe that the guys that have been coming on as finishers are perfectly capable of starting and getting the job done.

I wouldn't drop Folau in hot minute but it could be argued that his high-ball catching is a far cry from what we know he is capable of.....I recall him being untouchable in the air. I may wrong here, but I don't think he has managed to take a clean "contested" catch in the last 3 matches, droping at least a couple each match. Maybe he is trying to save his ankle?...if this is the case he needs to take week of the get it right as we can't afford to have him not competing for those.

For all of the justifiable plaudits that Biggar has received for his goal kicking, his relatively easy miss before half-time that would've leveled the scores at 9-9 was critical in the final analysis.

If Wales had been 12-9 down in the 2nd half (instead of the actual score of 12-6) & with numerous penalties going their way whilst the Wallabies were reduced to 13 the temptation would've been irresistible to take a penalty shot for 12-12 and then come back hard again.

With all of the pre-RWC concerns about the Wallabies goal kicking it's been great to see Foley striking the ball so well.

So an Ireland victory tonight would mean we aren't only playing for the RWC but also potentially a grand slam and an unofficial bledisloe. However it also means NZ play France next week so we may not get the opportunity for the latter ;-)
