What worries me about England match is could well be a slug fest as England slow down the pace of the game and where goal kicking becomes so important....and Farrell is superb kicker compared to Foley....Foley been ok of late but not in same league as Farrell

I thought it was 5am AEST & 6am AEDT
I'm in Qld so maybe wrong but doesn't dayylight savings kick off this Saturday night?

If I'm right probably best change the title.

I believe you are correct.

Viewers on both sides of the Tweed should double check their kick off time.

I agree that the scrum is going to be an issue for the Wallabies but I'm also concerned about the Poms goal kicking prowess. They don't need to score tries and we'll need to score a few to get up.

England start the match with an 8 point head-start due to the kicking imo. We have to overcome that, will be tough.

Correct decision, wasn't a red card offence so he doesn't deserve a ban. Don't think it will make any difference anyway. I just cannot see England beating Australia.

So your solution is we don't even try????

Look - I figure Foley will keep his spot, but I won't be complaining if we pick Cooper & Mitchell and actually have a crack.

I posted this in the Wallabies V Uruquay thread, but thought I'd repeat it here for those who have now passed on from the earlier game:

I think it is very important , in a tournament like this with its demanding nature on players as the slope gets steeper towards the finals, especially from now on for the Wallabies, that the fly-half position is shared by the two specialist 5/8ths.
Giteau has said he doesn't regard himself as a true 5/8, in that his preferred position is at 12, and To'omua is also better at 12, with his game too one dimensional at flyhalf at this level.
In these remaining games, the alternative flyhalf between Foley & QC (Quade Cooper) should be on the bench, getting at least 20 minutes of play in each game, in order to stay in touch.
This will also give both fly-halves some time off from possibly 5 high level games on a weekly basis, which is just too exhausting to maintain maximum exertion.
As well, it allows the coaching staff the opportunity to determine which 5/8 offers the most towards victory in the big games.
If Foley becomes the lynch pin 5/8 (or vice versa with QC (Quade Cooper)), and suffers a tournament ending injury in say a semi-final where nobody else has played in that position since the Uruquay or England game, then the team is heading into a very difficult situation where a loss is instant death.
I truly believe that Cheika needs to have both fly-halves & half-backs (same logic) on the bench for all remaining games (hopefully 5), even with a 6/2 forward/backs ratio.

England by 10.

They're fighting for survival - no way in hell they're losing this.

They are going to be under enormous pressure and there will be some self doubt after the loss on the weekend.

Cheika has been dreaming about this game for the past couple of months and thinking about nothing else. Maybe for the last 10 months.

Any word on Slipper and Skelton?

And was Holmes carrying a niggle or was he just rested? Seems unlikely it was a rest if it meant putting Sio and Kepu in the game so long.

Tom Wood hasn't been cited. Apparently a warning was issued.

OK. Well, this makes it interesting then!

On the assumption (just an opinion) that Farrell will play, then it has to be someone creative outside him. I'm leaning towards Ford and then Barritt probably, as we discussed above.

This means that Oz might need a bit of guile in the middle there, perhaps a bit of presssure on Farrell? Helps to have a fast openside I guess.

Ironically, I'm least bothered about the scrum. England's scrum relies on Marler's tricks and the whip wheel. Ledesma will have been training for that all week and a boring-in LHP is something that can be countered with training.
Personally, I don't think Marler has much else in his kit bag tbh and Holmes in particular won't have too much trouble with him.
I guess we'll find out.

Instead, the Wallabies probably need to be worried about the England back three. No point in putting up stupid bombs with Mike Brown back there. Hopefully Genia leaves his box kicks at home this week.

B Vunipola out, Easter in.
Morgan is a far superior player to puffin Billy the Graham Hick of rugby. The problem with Morgan is he takes a run of games to get fit and, because of injury he hasn't had that. Easter is not international quality IMHO. I can't see how England are shady favouritism. Australia are a racing certainty.

Morgan is a more solid player, more completely but Vunipola is the strongest English ball carrier at the backrow. So he is a HUGE loss as impact player for them.
