Rugby World Cup Matches OTA

I hope Matt Williams is ok
Man is just a pundit these days.

Like the tragics on here, really, but with more profile.

In saying that, he got the Oz rugby diagnosis right ... but it's not as as if many others can't see the problems.

More like 6.5/1.5 (Smith being the .5) :)

Will only be a problem if they lose two backs, just about everyone from 9-15 plays or at least can cover another position.

I think that in the next WC cycle we'll see a lot more teams going 6/2 & looking for that elusive guy who covers loose forward & midfield: we thought we'd found him in Sotutu (midfielder/10 through school before converting to loosie) but he hasn't kicked on as hoped.

Edit: oops, meant to reply to @kiap.

The game will be won or lost based on whether Ireland can counter the forward onslaught.

Really simple.

Find a way to get near parity at the breakdown and a way to unlock the rush defense and Ireland wins.

No need to guess how we will play.

Ireland breakdown clearance speed has been incredible for a while, SA need to find a way to slow Ireland down at the breakdown. Ireland need to find a way to counter the SA line speed.

I think you will see Ireland spreading the ball, and maybe playing a bit deeper. Bundi has gone from being on the edge of the 23 to probably the first picked in the side over the last few weeks. His stats so far are amazing, 39 runs/21 carries for 270 meters, 7 clean breaks and 18 defenders beaten, 3 offloads, 19 passes and 4 trys. NZ commentary on the Tonga game called him currently the best inside center in the world, and 3 weeks ago I had him in the 23 jersey behind Henshaw/Ringrose combo in the Irish side.

Ireland should fight fire with fire and do at least a 6 / 2 split
seems like this is saying boks will play not to loose, not go for the win doing everyone to win by playing boring set piece rugby

I hope Ireland don't change there plan, they know what SA was going to bring since the NZ game and would be prepared.

I just really hope we win, if we lose I'll have to stay off social media for 2 weeks because majority the Bok fans are already annoying.

I'm with you.
Hope we stick to playing with our strengths.
Say we pick six forwards on bench it means only two see out the game.
With Ireland I want Doris, Van Der Flier, Ryan and possibly Beirne to get as close to 80 as possible. They are fit and still dominant in the last twenty of test matches.

There's always the danger of Sexton copping a knock too so need cover there. And usually in highly attritional matches you lose a couple throughout. If they're backs then you need cover

I'd still with 5-3, I'd me sending Bundi at Eben sore shoulder early too. If it's not right it will be obvious, Boks lack of 2nd hooker should be a worry. Once Fourie is on there line out is up for the taking.

So who's everyone's second teams? I go into every Wallabies game thinking we'll finally find the elusive form that took us to the bled in 2001 but I think there's no harm in putting teams out there now.

I'm mostly Scottish but find them to be even more miserable and whinging than the poms. That Laidlaw dude was annoying.

I like seeing Wales beat England given the disparate size and world influence (and I love watching England lose) but ultimately they are even more miserable than Scotland.

Ireland are a great team but I think they've embraced their own good news too hard so fuck em.

I don't want to see NZ and RSA pull ahead of the pack in WCs even more than they have. If I had to choose it'd be NZ because I generally get along with them in Queenzland fine. RSA sledge too much after they're already on top - fuck em.

Of the top teams that basically leaves France given Argentina isn't exactly top. Given how close they went in 2011 against the home team I guess I'll go for them.

Married to a saffa so certainly wont be supporting them.
Not a fijian but have spent a fair bit of time in villages in fiji, so always enjoy seeing them succeed.

Why are both sides wearing away strips ?

People who are vision-impaired have difficulty seeing certain colours together. The higher the contrast, the better.

Hence dark colours v light colours where possible. Red is a bit fucked either way so won't be making as much of an appearance as anticipated.
