This should be a lot of fun. I think Rugby 2007 was the last Rugby Union game I played.

I remember seeing an article about this around 6 months ago. Something about still being in development by the same group who made EA rugby 2008, but there was some issues with EA distributing it and they were thinking of going alone. Who knows, maybe even this Rugby Challenge game is the result, but it doesn't really look like it. Nothing on their page seems to suggest they've been in the business long.

Edit: Ah, thanks Maroon Army, that must be it.

Cool I'd like to get a new rugby game with all the latest updated squads I hope they actually make the game hard this time.

what i have read and the link I put up, this one will be the best. made by the kiwi gamers and made by a country that goes in depression when they lose around the Rugby world cup years. Lets face it, they no a lot about the game. I've played EA sport soccer game and it pretty good but the rugby ones are ordinary..

Anyways thumbs up to the Kiwis for making a fun game, at least this way when they lose the 2011 WC they can play the game and pretend they have won..
(all in good fun mods^^^^^^^)

I heard HB studios is taking on a new rugby game but it wont be endorsed by EA. Go to TheRugbyForum.com. The game play should be similar to previous rugby games but they will have some licensing problems since EA is not on board, which means some teams and players names won't be included. But it should still be a fun game as i enjoyed the last EA game.

Did a post on the everything else forum so If you want to have a look here it is:
http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/forum/threads/6601-Rugby-Video-Games

A few things have changed since that initial post, Rugby 2012 has now become the Official Rugby world cup 2011 game. There has been some indication it won't contain club teams and a patch of grass can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXlmCsJoFf0

Rugby Challenge has had many developments since I last posted, some guy has posted everything about the game that is known. http://forums.sidheinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=42912

Will be buying both games and will not be seen from late August onwards :)

Will they both be console games? All consoles? Will they have online play?

A few things I hope they change
• Make it harder to just swing it wide and score tries
• Inside balls more effective
• More penalties in rucks and scrums

I believe that Rugby 2012 was officially tied to the World Cup and they got the rights to a lot of northern hemisphere teams...

Unfortunately it seems like we're going to have two average games instead of one great game...

what id like is that all the rugby unions forget about trying to make money and realize the promotional gold mine of having a decent game on the consoles!
licence away!
i firmly believe that a MAJOR reason the premier league has become so popular in australia over the last 10 years is because of the popularity of fifa on playstation and xbox
