Rugby Championship 2025 : South Africa v Australia Round 2

Kellaway, Jorgenson, Sua’ali’i & Donaldson can all play 15.
the only guys capable of having the same impact at FB are jorg and JAS. If i was schmidt i wouldnt be tempted to move jorg given he looks one of the best wingers in world rugby atm. I might be tempted to give JAS a shot. Iv not been one advocating moving JAS to wing cause i think his impact at centre has been understated but it does feel like we havent quite worked out how to get the most out of his skill set..may be worth a roll of the dice...all comes down to whether schmidt thinks hunter or hanish is up to the task

Pumas strategy to beat the AB's was largely centred around contestable kicks. JAS would be very to good/safe to have under the high ball and I agree that he would give the same X-factor with ball in hand as Wright.
Can't really think of a standout replacement to cover outside centre.

Did you see the tackle on him by Van Strat just before? Held and twisted his leg as he moved away and Wright was pinned down by two other Boks. That as where it happened.
You mean the one less than a minute into the game that we got penalised for, for what I assumed at the time was JAS not supporting his body weight/sealing off?

Is it about matching wright’s impact? Or is it about trying to keep the backline as settled as you can. One straight swap with kellaway for wright keeps everyone else in the same spot. I prefer that.

If you try to replace Wright with somebody who's going to do what he does, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Better to focus on stability and maintaining combinations, which probably means selecting Kellaway.

Well .....either that or shoot Tom Banks a text?

Left hand hits Pollards hand which dislodges it, but then his right hand comes through in the wrap and hits the ball, it's why it veers infield. I don't think they got this one wrong.
Exactly, thought that was pretty clear but everyone seems to have missed it

Hip drop tackle on JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) from Kolbe as well.
This got replayed at least once and O'Connor seemed to be injured from it. Thought it deserved another look by the TMO.

As to the leg twisting on Wright, saw a couple of incidents in the game where the Boks were lifting the legs of players at the ruck above the horizontal, seemed to be a plot albeit a dirty one.

I noticed it a lot. The Boks bringing dirty back. The tackle on white wasn't called for and knocked white out. I know it's rugby but it's a dog tackle. Lifting tackled players legs up and twisting them happened 3 or 4 times in the game. There is no way anyone should be doing that to any players on the ground.

"We could really use those three points right now. Who's our kicker? Oh...."
It was early in the game, and all were in front of the posts. The funny thing is that at the end of the first half, they ended up kicking from the halfway point. Almost 50 metres lol

The dude kicking missing a couple?
The line-out was a complete disaster. And the Boks have a tradition in the line and in mauls; they've always had the best locks and the best hookers in the world, usually a heavy forwards-pack. There were two easy opportunities early in the game that they decided to kick to the touch but at the end of the first half, they decided to kick to the posts from almost 50 meters out
