While rugby has gone unrewarded for its silence, the federal government has poured approximately $46 million into soccer, primarily for the World Cup bid.

That is astounding and an astounding waste of taxpayers money. Another astounding waste of money was the spending on World Youth Day. Someone needs to tell them that money belongs to us and we don't want it wasted.

Did you get a response from Hockey to your Tweet yesterday? That man's a buffoon of the highest order - and that's probably being unkind to buffoons.

Re Ballymore. Why would the govt put money into it when they sunk shitloads into building the best rectangular stadium in the country? If you want economic stimulus through infrustrcture, filter the money out into improving suburban grounds at the heart of club land. JON, if rugby actually did some positive things in the junior community it might see a piece of the pie come funding time. Look at what the AFL does in the community. It is worth all the funding it recieves. JON, rugby is a minority sport. Developing AFL in SA is a joke. We have our own problems in this country which are far more important than sport. I love rugby but its administration in Australia is a joke.

Rudd vs Abbott. There is not much difference between them. They both specialise in telling us what we want to hear with little conviction in what they are saying.

Ballymore money wasn't about the playing field/stadium. It was about making an elite training facility. High Performance centre. So it brings teams into the country and is thus an ongoing stimulas.

Exactly. It was creating an asset.

No response as yet, thought it was worth asking though. Joe's always good for a quote, and not much else.

I personally demand compensation from the Rudd government for spending 14 hours on a delayed flight from LA with about 100 Mexican catholics.

All the way I was sitting there thinking, I am paying for this....and I'm not even a catholic.
