I think Stewart had his best offensive game last week against the Tahs and Paisami was great offensively against the Brumbies. Both players complimenting each other well.

He put a good box kick in too.

Both Paisami & Stewart seem to attend lots of breakdowns in support.

thats the way of the modern game. regardless of the number on your back you have to be able to complete any skill set required. ( except front row duties) 12 and 13 now need to be able to play like a 6/7

He might not be as robust as Perese or Paisami but he's more rounded, far less prone to mistakes and makes good decisions in defence.

Perese is an interesting one though - he's most damaging in the loose or when play has broken down but I'm not sure it's enough to be a starting centre for the Wallabies
Not only was Paisami awesome in defence, but particularly in the first half his running game was on song and he made good metres. His direct opponent was Ikitau and on the evidence of this game his defence was not up to scratch. Maybe he had an off day, everyone can. But he won't want to have too many more this year as to my eyes Paisami and Perese are well in front. Perese has been top 5 in virtually every game he's played and Paisami was my MOM on the weekend.

There's no doubt that Paisami played better than his opponent (albeit in a match were every Red outperformed their counterpart), but I think you are underestimating the strength of his 2022 form and the value of his incumbency in the Wallaby jersey.

Just don't be too disappointed when he's selected in the 13 jersey for the first couple of tests (Paul Cully certainly agrees with me)

Incumbency will be important, but I think form in the second half of the season will be the biggest thing.

The good thing is with the level of competition, no one can afford to drop off.

Incumbency will have a smaller influence than "who" is the selector ( or has the ear of the selector)
McKellar ---> Rennie

Lol.. I hope McKellar gets all Brumbies selected just to see you have a cry

I trust McKellar selects exactly who he wants. Seems natural to see a skew to those he knows. That's life. But I want the coaching team to select exactly who they think will be best whatever the comments from non-Brumby fans. I'm hoping that plenty of Reds make the cut but either way it must be who Rennie-McKellar want.

What do you mean you hope he gets them all selected. Who else could you want? Are you hoping Brumby Jack gets a gig?
It's the utter nonsense that any of the Australian coaches select players based on which club that they play for.. it's a ridiculous theory.. Rennie's head coach and there's 3 assistant coaches that have some say.

And anyway probably the 3 most important selections will be from overseas. Quade Koro and Kervi

Think the only caveat on this was last year with new coaches and short prep times you could understand players being chosen because of club combinations and/or knowing club systems. With more predictable/normal prep hopefully ahead you wouldn't think it would be the case moving forward, although combinations are something that always should be at least considered.

Got mentioned a few times on here from memory that McKellar may have been given some extra leeway in getting a Brumbies style maul to the Wallabies at short notice. Doesn't mean that is what happened of course. Maybe all the coaches agreed that all three Brumbies hookers were better than any of the hookers playing at other Super Rugby clubs. ;)

Who wasn't selected that should have been ?
More like - "Who shouldn't have been there due to poor form?"

But for most folk last year - it was Jock Campbell that should have been there.

For the end of year tour- WIlson and McReight ?
