I thought so too. His throwing was no worse than the WB alternatives and his scrum and general play was up to Super speed against Kiwi opposition. Can't complain abut that.

Despite what some other posters have said I'm certainly not writing off Hooper and I didn't actually think he was that bad. Created a number of turnovers. Will have to re-watch the game

I'm not writing him off either, but he did have an average game. Especially by his own standards. I get a feeling that he's been given a bit a time to himself in the off season and requires a little longer to get up to speed. Hooper still had impact and showed a great rugby brain.
He's just got a way to go to be at peak Hooper. Quite a way.

Jeez Aussie teams would kill for a hometown ref like that. Tahs were their own worst enemy and should have scored more but the ref was atrocious. Letting one team play the ball off their feet, diving on the ball at the breakdown, intentional knock downs that wasnt not even called a knock on. How do we get these refs to be on the Aussie side ?
End of the game was a joke. Ardie clearly offside and hurricanes players just laying on the ball and he calls unplayable. Haha then a shoulder charge by Jordy and another penlaty. Should have seen yellow
