Looked pretty good, let them back in a bit. Need to get the passes sticking and not giving away penalties on defence.

Last 10 of that half the rebels got lazy and gave away cheap penalties. Reckon Sean will give em a rev at half time.

Heheh - temporary scrummie Veainu actually feeds the ball in straight! And Melbourne lose the scrum.

+ now another yellow card for Rising - Neville for side entry

How good has Perry been!? Looks like we have another gun 7.

Fotu has been poor, not the kind of impact you'd expect from him at this level.

This is an ugly 2nd half. Only saving grace is that the UCV replaced their starting halfback. From live viewing he was absolutely shocking. Passes spraying all over the show.

The replacement has been miles better.

You can't take his form in the NRC at face value though... ... He's played test rugby so his NRC games must not be acknowledged. At all.

Is that a dig?

My argument is just that the Rising are rolling out a team that is far superior to the other teams in the competition. Therefore everyone in the Rising look good because of how they are collectively playing. Would he look at good if the Rebels were on the back foot?

Maybe you could have him in place of James Horwill.

The fact that Mogg has been average throughout the NRC can be taken into account because he is generally playing against teams roughly even with the Vikings.

Mogg is struggling to cut it in the NRC..
Spot on.

Note for the Vikings coaching staff and for Jesse Mogg. Debrecini kicks the ball from his own 20m line and Jesse picks it up about 10m inside his 20m. Then proceeds to kick for touch, finding it about 10 m inside the Vikings half. Net gain for the Rising about 40 m. This exemplifies the fallacy of the Vikings safety first kicking game. Just run the ball and you might happen to score more tries.

Funny that. I think Fotu has been terrific in the last couple of games. Full of energy, hitting the ball over the gain line and making big hits in defense. But I agree with your comment on Perry. Had more impact than Doyle.

The Rising team are bigger than most and play the game at real pace. Look great in the loose and their set piece is decent (for 60 minutes).
