I like to watch

Good call with Bernie, makes me think of Manny Edmonds & Carlos Spencer.
Despite Carlos being a kiwi I really loved to watch him do his stuff

I am surprised no-one has said Bernie yet. One of your best ever players and good lad. Only saw his career 2003 onwards but he was a quality player.

I was wondering how long that would take. Bernie easily. Simply beautiful player to watch, elegant, athletic, a touch of magic with every touch.

Reddy!

TUNE - poor guy only played 46 odd tests but was good enough to play 80. Looking back on when he did play, he was freaking fast as a cheetah, even by todays standards. Scored 24 trys along the way.

David Croft, Owen Finegan, Ben Tune, Tim Horan, Jeremy Paul and Stirling Mortlock in his prime.

I watched an old Brumbies game and realised I should have had Owen Finnegan as a great missed player too. Gee the brumbys had an awesome team

Eales.

My criteria of judging a good player is the impact they have at club level. I have seen very few that dominate the way that they should. Eales (I believe) played two cub games since the game went pro, 1996 and 1999, and in both I saw things I don't think I'll ever see on a rugby field again. To say he was dominant would be a massive understatement.

Some good ones mentioned previously. I've been thinking alot about Horan lately. Cannot understand why he isn't more highly regarded. When the game has become about the RWC and you are the best player at one you must be pretty darn good. Probably the fastest player over 20m as well, lethal acceleration.

Was Larkham left handed? He could throw brilliant passes both ways but his left foot step and left to right pass seemed to be off the scales in highlights.

After Eales et al left, the one player I reckon we missed hugely but wasn't recognised, was Matty Cockbain. Such a hard nosed no nonsense player. We missed his, dare I say it, mongrel and impact at the ruck and maul.

I wish we'd been missing him during the 2003 RWC because he shouldn't have been there over Finegan...

nah, Finegan had one good year for the Wallabies in 2001.

He falls into the group of Brumbies players who didn't consistently bring their provincial form to the test stage - Paul, Roff, Harrison, Finegan, Howard.

You did not seriously just say Joe Roff?

That's some serious trolling there...

Joe Roff - decent v the Lions, but played his best Wallaby footy at fullback in his last year.

Roff is not only the greatest Wallaby winger of the pro era he was one of the best international test players in his time...

You sir are full of shit... or never actually watched the Wallabies in the late 90's early 00's...

As a kid I was in awe of Ken Catchpole and watched him on channel 2 every chance I got.

Watching the three Ella brothers work together for Randwick was another great highlight. The sum total was always better than the individual parts.

Watching Rob Egerton destroy QLD one year was a great memory, as was Ken Wright's step to totally destroy the NZ backline.

Horan, Campese, Larkham were great to watch. Horan was the best 12 I ever saw.

Peter Hewatt was the greatest try thief in the game and watching him was always a delight. He could have been a great international had he been given the chance - he was a way better tackler than Cooper.
