Well hats off to Bekker and Sinclaire waiting for beast to bring the Sharks surfer down. could have been quiet ugly if they went straight into Beast while he lifted the surfer.

Pretty sure they'd have got red carded if they did. I'm fairly sure taking out a supporting player constitutes taking out a player whilst he's in the air.

Yeah Dean Mumm got yellow carded for that against the Bulls a few weeks back, and rightfully so. Very stupid and dangerous thing to do.

Reckon you could also get penalised for punching your own team mate, too.
Apparently not, according to the ARU ref courses I did a few weeks back.

Most of those foul play laws refer to doing stuff to an opponent. The fact that Law 10.4 (j) doesn't would seem to imply that it is also a penalty if you do it to your teammate.

Applies to your own team too, its supposed to be for lineouts, but the way its worded it really has effect all over.

All crazy stuff that rarely ever happens (ie: starting a fight with your own team) can come under 10.4 (m). Anything against the spirit of the game, ie: abusing match officials, diving, racism, throwing the ball at someone (to provoke them) can come under it.
