As I said earlier in this thread. The NSW Waratahs medical staff are doing a great dis-service to Berrick Barnes. He should be stopped from playing immediately. This is becoming extremely serious now. 'Rugby Players Headache'. Seriously....how stupid can these people be....?

Footballers migraine is an authentic condition. I'd trust the neurologists to get it right before any of us. They err on the side of caution anyway. Too much caution could unnecessarily end Barnes career and livelihood.

Remember Martin Lang? He's been retired now for several years I believe, and wonder now how he is doing...with all that hit ups he did with no thought of self preservation...

I think Lang would have more "whip lash" type trauma from league.

My big concern for union is the repeated "small" collisions that occur to forwards, they take the ball from the base of the ruck and make 1m gain with their head down. S Faainga often does this. He may not recieve massive trauma but if he is recieving contact then it is a lot of small injuries.

and remember Adam Ritson....he is basically a walking vegetable apparently

I recollect, if correct, that he got knocked out in a match and the brain scans afterwards showed a tumor, so I don't think his condition came from playing footy...

Burke's Boot - we'll find out. There's a class action being launched in the US.

Now, a question, which I'll repeat elsewhere - given that the concussion regs came in over a month ago, and that the Boksmart program in SA and Rugbysmart program in NZ mean that at least two of the 3N teams should be well used to them - are they being applied for the 3N matches, starting this weekend?

And if not, why not?
