Dickinson's game tonight was by far the best of any referee in the S14 so far.

Hard to argue with this. Although some might argue he's too 'technical', the sole purpose of having a referee in any sport is to apply the laws of the game - a job he does!

As for the appointments, I would hope the ARU are up in arms that only 2 tests will be refereed by Australians (Dickinson in Argentina and Walsh with Japan-Tonga). Whilst the refereeing ranks might be in a trough at the minute, the likes of Smith and Pearce, with another 3-4 years Super experience coupled with some up and comers will probably see Australian refereeing stocks stronger within 5-7 years (these things take time)

How B Lawrence can get 2 appointments for 'top tier' tests and Dickinson only gets Argentina-France (which I suspect will have a 2nd XV) is beyond me! And as far as I am concerned, the best Kiwi running around by an absolute mile is Vinny Munro, who is only on the AR Panel?

As far as the Bledisoles are concerned, I don't think having SAffers is too bad, only because the Aus/NZ guys will be used to them and their interpretations from S14 games (no matter how bizarre they might be, Mr Kaplan). I remember a few years back the Hong Kong game was refereed by and Irishmen (I think) which resuleted in some absolute baffling rulings.

"Tah Man" as opposed to "The Amazing Tah Man"? You've beefed up a bit, I notice.

What happened to last year's model? We need to see you abseiling the SFS or arriving by F-18 before we can take you seriously.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
