And perhaps we we could say poor in sporting fans with the whinging and excuse making we see on threads like this
Are you hereby suggesting that there are no serious and legitimate criticisms to be made of Lawrence's refereeing competencies, and their impacts upon this game? That somehow his numerous highly debatable penalty calls in an otherwise tight game, should not be assessed, or, if found wanting, complained over? Especially if these calls may well have changed the course of the game? Do you have a compelling explanation of BL's performance that is contrary to the widely held view - well outside Reds' fans - that he made multiple serious errors of commission and omission that in aggregate markedly favored the Cru? Errors that even the Kiwi commentators highlighted whilst play was underway.
Balancing this (in my view) legitimate critiquing, many Reds posters here have posted comments regarding the team or individual Reds' failings in the match that contributed to the Reds loss. No one here has suggested the Reds played the perfect game, far from it.
Let's not throw the baby of the rational and reasonable competency assessment of controversial refs out with the gratuitous and irrational ref-bashing bathwater, or all we will underwrite is a perpetuation of potentially poor refereeing standards in a manner that will certainly not serve the game well.
