But, in counterpoint, Juandre Kruger, the Bulls' lineout general, is playing from the bench, The Flipper is injured, and pie-chucker Chiliboy is throwing to their lineout.

Fair swap.

There's a lot of changes for the Bulls - only 6 guys starting from the run-on team last week because of injuries, return from injuries and rotation on tour.

You little beauty, Kev is back. Reds lineout will be interesting without Simmons. Would have preffered Simo start over Ed. Simmo had stepped his game up in the last few weeks. I suspecrt this is only rotation but I would of prefered that Saia started also. Same reason as Simmons.

If memory serves, Simmo had a head knock early on last week, but can't remember if he went off or not?

He was on another planet last week. KO'd in the first minute and went off (blood) came back on but apparently couldn't remember any of the line out calls - at all. He was hooked at half time and when he came back to the bench he had swabs in both ears indicating he was bleeding from the ears. That's a big head knock.
I was expecting him to be rested this week.

Simmons got concussed last week. They probably won't even play him off the bench unless absolutely necessary.

If the matters mentioned above are correct Simmons should not be playing for 3 weeks regardless of how he did in the cognitive test all concussed players have to undergo.

Scuttlebutt is that all players dog on their base test anyway; so a later comparison is not so bad.

I think the Reds will get up in this game - not because of their recent form but because the Bulls have made so many changes. There is always rotation on tour but some of the changes look odd, as others have mentioned.

Good luck to the Reds. A preview of the game is included in my blog here:

I believe the Reds backline has a bit of a speed deficiency atm, and was shown up against the Force last week. But, given the number of changes to the Bulls, and noting the return of Horwill and Ant together with Will's second game back, I tip the Reds by 10.

Must win match for the Reds tonight and I hope they realise it. With the way their draw is set up this season, if they drop another home game they can pretty much start planning for 2014.

Pretty stinking hot today too so wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of dropped ball again due to the humidity.

Big Kev is looking hungry and keen to get among it.

Not looking forward to hearing Marto call the game with Clarkie.

Potgieter welcomes Diggers back with a huge tackle.

Sanchez is giving QC (Quade Cooper) plenty of space with a very long and accurate pass.

Game on. Who's watching?

I'm here with Mrs Doug, Hugh, with no FTA TV coverage, and Bris Vegas ABC 612, and Northern Rivers NSW ABC broadcasting bloody Broncos match!! And why is Rugby suffering in the ratings one may ask?!!!
Look forward to any comments and scores.

Hi Mr Doug, We have a Scottish Ranga visiting here at Chez Jarse.

QC (Quade Cooper) has just kicked a PK for Reds to lead 3 - 0. Already missed one. 8:50 gone.
