Okay so Reds are playing Blues this Saturday (27/2/10) at Ballymore. Should make for a great game, hopefully the Reds can keep their performance up despite the loss of Horwill, which is a terrible, terrible shame.

I wonder how Ballymore is going to fair out. They must be bringing in temporary food and drink vans, as it really wouldn't surprise me if they get at least 20,000 (which would be sell out material). If you are going to the game, don't be spontaneous about it, make sure you purchase your tickets first, as I know first hand getting tickets at Ballymore in that queue is a bitch.

Here's some of the QRU information about it.

The Blues at Ballymore

Ballymore Stadium
Fresh from their thrilling victory over the Crusaders, the QR Reds are returning to Ballymore for one night only to take on the Blues on Saturday 27 February.

This is the first Investec Bank Super 14 rugby match to be played at Ballymore in five years and will be sure to be a night that brings old memories flooding back and for those too young to have experienced Ballymore in all its glory it will be a night to create new memories.

Tickets

With a current ground capacity of around 20,000, there may be as few as 8,000 tickets available for sale for this match so you don't want to wait! Get your tickets now through Ticketek.

Corporate Hospitality

There are plenty of hospitality options for the Ballymore match but you had better get in now!

From corporate suites and box packages to our individual offering in the Grill Terrace there is bound to be an option that suits you. For full details click here.

QRC Lineout Grill

The Queensland Rugby Club will be offering meals at the Lineout Grill, with fans also able to purchase a seat and meal package. Bookings are essential. Details at the QRC website or download the booking forms at the links below.

Parking

On site parking is extremely limited at Ballymore and Reds members have been given first priority on pre-booking those spaces that are available.

Buses to Ballymore

(Important note: While the shuttle bus services listed below are free of charge, the use of any connecting trains, buses or ferries will require purchase of a fare. The public transport network is only free for matches at Suncorp Stadium.)

Free buses will operate to Ballymore from the following locations:

Sunnybank Rugby Club
Brothers Rugby Club
Wests Rugby Club
University Rugby Club
Easts Rugby Club

These services will start at 4.30pm and run every 15minutes (approximately) with the last bus at 6.15pm. After the match, return services will run between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

Free shuttle buses will also run from the Metro car park at the RBW Hospital and from Stop 125 in Roma Street. These will run at the same times as the club bus services.

I'm jealous, wish I was there. If any Reds supporters at the game spot a group of grizzled geriatrics gathering around the palm tree on the western side, that's my old drinking team. They're a good bunch, have one with them for me.

Go the Reds.

Isaia Toeava has been ruled out for the Blues this weekend, quite fortunate that the Reds face a Blues side minus Toeava and McAlister

Il be there this weekend, buying the tickets today, im expecting a sellout crowd

I'll be there too. Put one of my slack arse mates in charge of buying tickets, so no doubt will end up having to do it myself.

Do it early before to late. I expect a sell out as well.

not really next week, but Sione Luaki has been banned for two weeks meaning he will miss the Reds game in Waikato as well :)

Who is likely to captain and can the Reds lift to to same intensity with Horwill calling the shots and leading from the front?

Genia has been announced as skipper.

We haven't won 2 in a row since 2006, so it's a big challenge for us.

Really? What the fuck, if there is a coach to do it under, it is Ewen McKenzie. Let's hope so.

Congrats to Sanchez!

Interesting that Link overlooked Morgs...

someone made the point that they may be looking for sucession planning and the probability of Morgan not been around in 2011

well it depends on how he goes in 2010, but with Will Chambers on the books and Link chasing Mark Gasnier and with a large pool of young outside backs the Reds need to secure you would think that something has to give.

The Missus couldn't get over how young Morgs looked! Said he looked like he was in his twenties. I pointed out he was in his Twenties and she changed it to Early Twenties. I have got to admit he looked very fit. Even Houston looked fit.

Ah, smashing win on the weekend, reds seeimgly on the up and hopes are high in the sunshine state for another great win this weekend!

I therefore have no doubt we will be smashed on the weekend with multiple injuries crippling our team for to cause losses later in the year, and more tears in my beer.

Spoken like a seasoned reds supporter mate - this season start is operations normal so far, so no reason that the script will change next weekend. Probably be able to put together a half decent team by combining any force players left standing with our cattle, might scrape up a match day 22... :'(

why are we playing at Ballymore again? Is there some soccer on this weekend?

Soccerduds play Indonesia on Wednesday March 3rd but that's it.

Genia seems to call all the shots even when Horwill is playing so it was an easy choice. Big game for the Reds they need to win back to back games if they want to be taken seriously.

It will be a bigger kick in the teeth if they lose this week then when they lost to the Tahs after such an incredible high on friday.

Side note: speaking of soccer, did anyone see the game between the Chiefs and Lions in Week 2? Was played on a surface they re-turfed due to SWC2010 and it chopped up like a little bitch under the pressure of scrums with real studs and not woofter blades soccer boots worn by nancies :lmao:

Watched that game with my son, Nick, and couldn't take my eyes off the peeling carpet. Disgraceful! What, one of the great rugby stadiums of the world? It was crap.
