Egregoiusly offensive.

Wholesale changes at the Rebels this week combined with returns from injury will result in an inspired and determined new look Rebels outfit registering the upset of the season.

Harris' boot can only get worse and Radike can only get slower. Both facts that will benefit the mighty Rebels, particularily as Phipps and Cipriani can only improve. The resultant counter-balancing of the two squads will force the Rebels above and beyond the grasp of the Reds.

we will need a dramatic improvement from our halves pairing, should that happen, I am confident that our pack and the rest of our backs are up to scratch to put in a solid effort and make a game of it.

I'm confident that everything you say will fail to come to pass.....

My feeling is that the reds would be shitty with how last Saturday went. They'll have too much pride this weekend and either grind it out or run away with it depending on what Rebel side shows up.

Mine was laced with sarcasm for those who couldn't tell.

I think we'll be more competitive in general than we were this weekend, but its very much an uphill battle for us.

I am immensely unconfident in our halves pairing after last week. the modicum of faith i had in cipface after his pre-season has quickly dissipated and I again will hope for JOC (James O'Connor) at 10. Much like last season, danny's pre-season form quickly has given way to the harsh realities of his shockingly lazy play. Step up son! If he fails to perform, I think we have excellent personnel who can play 10 in his stead. He just doesn't seem to have his head in it and perhaps has half his mind turned to Sale.

Phipps needs to pick it up, he was in poor form on Friday. If not calls for him to be replaced by Kinghi or our little ranga will ratchet up. He's a quality half with a great pass and he's a tough little bugger, but he was off his game and his competition is not far behind him. I don't think he can afford two in a row with the way Kinghi looked in pre-season and when he came on.

No doubt Genia will be sniping around the fringes and phipps will have to step up his defense - ditto whoever plays at 7/6.

stranger things have come to pass though.

egregiously offensive is suggesting i be banned for using a big word!

Reds should be pretty pissed off with their 2nd half efforts from last Saturday - left a bonus point out there that was there to be taken.

Expecting Hanson & Saia to return and Reds to dominate the lineout and overall forward battle. Tight for the first 25 but all Red from then on.

Reds 13+ for me this weekend.

Kingi has to be the Rebels 9 moving forward, the form he showed at the U20s a few years back was electric. The bloke is not a back three player.

Cipriani is worth persisting with.

Anyone would be better than Chamberlain, so Saffy sure as hell should claim that 7 jersey. Jones should get another run at 6.

If the Rebels forwards don't disrupt the Reds pill, this could be just the game that the Reds find their form.

On the Reds scrum, Daley should only be picked against weak scrums until he develops some better skills. He can start this week but for the next two weeks Holmes should start at LHP.

If Holmes should be the preferred prop for playing against the heavier packs, then get him in there now to improve the combination.
Links is an ex-prop, so will determine if this is the right move.
I think he likes Daley for his dedication to hard training, which is an important consideration in Link's way of thinking, plus his around-the-field flexibility.

I love the way Link shows faith in his players and gives them the opportunity to work through their weaknesses. I think it would be a massive part of why the culture within the playing group at the Reds is so strong. Daley will continue to start but I see Holmes getting more game time due to his good form.

I would be happy to see Anae start again this week.

I think I read Holmes was injured for this week.

Link must think highly of Daley, he captained the side in one of the trials, and is only behind Horwill and Genia in the leadership ranks. Too bad his performances are not warranting his selection.

I dont think Daley is scrummaging as well as last year. I would not be surprised that after his shoulder reco that he is not 100% confident.

I think it will be good in 2 to 3 years time when Daley and Slipper are just starting to reach full maturity in terms of props. They are both still very young in that regards and it takes many years and many scrums to become a dominate force.

The only thing is that in Australian circles selectors typically dont have the patience to wait for them to develop. As I mentioned in my previous post Holmes is just starting to really understand the nuances of his position.

Saia too. Most people forget how young he way when he made his debut as a front rower for the Brumbies. He has 69 super caps and has only just turned 25. By those stats he could play 175 games if he stays in Australia and break all sorts of records. His loose play is great, and given time I still think he can develop into a fantastic hooker who lives and breathes the set piece.

Reds cannot afford to wait for years for Daley to at least be reasonable at scrums - bring Holmes back until Daley can best him - IMO Anae and Robinson will feel brunt of axe this week -

Sources have informed me there is a very strong chance of Robinson being benched for Liam Gill. Hopefully that's the way it stays for the rest of the season.

Why not? They have already shown that they can win the S15 with him in the team next to a hooker who apparently cant scrummage. Maybe being good at scrums is over rated? (I hope not as I love them!)

Gill has been very good so far and with the way the refs are handling the ruck this year it does suit him more than Robinson. If Gill could play 80 Robinson may even struggle for a bench spot with other young loose forwards looking good.

Is Morahan likely to stay at 15? Wondering if a return to Lucas is possible, his defence is great and a second playmaker at times may take some pressure of Harris to run the show.

And how about a 4:3 bench. Samo can play lock at a pinch so no need to have Van H on the bench and will give Link a chance to try some different back combos.

1. Daley
2. Hanson
3. Slipper
4. Simmons
5. Horwill
6. Higgers
7. Gill
8. Schatz
9. Sanchez
10. Harris
11. Ioane
12. Taps
13. Finger
14. Shipperly
15. Lucas

16. Finger
17. Holmes (injured??)/Anae
18. Robinson
19. Samo
20. Lance
21. Morahan
22. Davies
