Davies has just come from the Bull pit, where the Bulls love nothing more than to see who can kick the highest to the opposition fullback.
So I can't see the Force using that tactic too much.

If the Force learnt anything from the Bulls game in terms of how to target Davies the answer would be to run at him.

Agreed Braveheart - not so worried about Davies under the high ball but I can't see him making many try savers. Actually come to think of it Lance shut down a few half breaks early in the game last weekend so without him there we might be in trouble. Not sure about Rapana's defence (or general playing style really), anyone seen him play?
One problem in Dallan's tackling last weekend was that he wasn't getting off the line, he was letting the Bulls players come to him so someone needs to give him a kick up the bum tomorrow night or its going to be a stampede in that middle channel.

Kafe went over the Reds defence on The Rugby Club last night.
Murphy actually did come out of the line a couple of times and missed tackles which then led to breaks.
Then they all started second guessing each other. Genia got caught on his heels a few times. Genia, Samo, Davies and Murphy missed 17 tackles between them and only made 14 tackles.

Mostly I think.
Most of it was just in general line defending though... not necessarily when the backlines were lined up against each other.

To be fair, the Force's kick chase has been pretty poor this year, so on second thought maybe it's not such a bright idea.

I agree, but they are actually doing some things up front very differently compared to last year. The Reds made up for their smallness in size up front with combinations and relentless accuracy, so that they squeezed out just enough gainline ball to give their outstanding backs half a dozen shots at the tryline per game.
They don't seem to be doing that anymore. Watching the Bulls game, I kept seeing Ben Daley getting absolutely belted in the tackle and lose ground. Last year Saia Fainga'a used to run WITH Daley to ensure they won those collisions: he would jog at his shoulder and just shove him through the tackle. Now Daley runs alone and loses a meter or two every time he gets hit.
Other things - Rob Simmons overrunning a short ball when the Reds had built a few promising phases. Rod Davies running a bad line off set piece and getting hit in the ribs, spilling the ball.
They were always a small team but used to make up for it with fierce concentration and accuracy; now the attention to detail has slipped a fraction and two good teams have smashed them.

The Reds forwards will really have their work cutout for them at the breakdown tonight. I know everyone has been talking Pocock up all season, and rightly so as the man is a freak, but Hodgson has also been mighty effective in the loose stuff.
Murphy will be one of the keys. Hopefully last weeks game has been erased from the memory. He does possess an astute kicking game so hopefully he can use it to good effect for field position and to take advantage of superior speed in the outside backs. Speaking of outside backs, time for Davies and Morahan to step up and let's hope Rapana has a good debut.

Force are finally settling into this season. Should have finished the job last week against the Rebels, hopefully tonight we will take advantage of a seriously undermanned Reds and notch up a rare home win.....please...please...please! At least being a home game it gets me out of going to Mary Poppins at Burswood....thank you Force 
Cooler conditions tonight but a dry track so should be a good game. The Force forwards have played well this season, well done Pek Cowan on 50 caps tonight, he's been in great form. Looking for a good game from Mafi and Cummins switched into the centres should get us over the gain line and break things open. Force should be more confident with a 4 try bonus point last week. Need Sheehan to provide quick ball and not dick around at the base of the scrum getting the ball slapped out of his hands. Not long to go now....GO Force!

No doubt about the Reds being woeful last week but in classic Kafe fashion he mentions the whole season then cites examples from only one game.
Our tackling was poor and some very reliable tacklers were off their game. Saia and Beau.
