Reds v Force 7pm Sat 29th March, Rd 7

Probably a very interesting, & very close came coming up, even with Ben O'Keeffe refering it.
In the overall forward packs, an even batttle. Alex Hodgman, Richie Asiata, & Massimo De Lutiis will out perform Marley Pearce, Nic Dolly, & Tom Robertson for front row domination of the scrums. With the replacements, again Josh Nasser, George Blake, & Jeffery Toomaga-Allen will be too strong for Tom Horton, Ryan Coxon, & Atu Moli,.The Reds will be looking forward to this scrummaging advantage to give them penalties in the latter 30 minutes of the game, as happened against the Highlanders a week ago.
The locks will even each other out, with Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, Ryan Smith matching it with Jeremy Williams & Darcy Swain. Smith should'nt be underestimated.
For the back row, with Harry Wilson being rested, & Mc Reight recovering from an AC joint injury, the Force have an advantage there over the Reds, with Will Harris, Carlo Tizzano, & Nick Champion de Crespigny outplaying Seru Uru, John Bryant & Joe Brial.
In the back line, I see Kalani Thomas being an energizer bunny when playing against Nic Wight. Furthermore, with wet conditions expected, this should suit Red's flyhalf Tom Lynagh directing his troops around the field with more versality than Ben Donaldson who is more a running line breaker type.
For the centres, Hunter Paisami & Filipo Daugunu will outgun the consistant Hamish Stewart, & Sio Tomkinson. althought wet weather could neutrlize this advantage to some degree.
I would rate the Force back three of Dylan Pietsch, , Harry Potter, & Mac Grealy a more dangerous combination for try scoring than Tim Ryan, Lachie Anderson, & Heremaia Murray, although the Junk Yard Dog is overdue a breakout game after his metiorotic rise as a novice last year.
Owing to wet weather conditions suiting the Reds 9,10, &12 more than their opposite numbers, combined with the smarts of the local coaching team, and home ground advantage, the Reds should start as favourites to win this game.

I think a lot is going to come down to Lynagh in this one, if he can keep his head (figuratively and literally) we should have it well in hand. He had really started to take control in Perth before he was concussed by Dolly, and if he had stayed on it likely would've been a more comfortable win. Given the conditions forecast it should favor his style even more.

I think all but two Dolphins or Broncos home games are hosted at Suncorp this season. So, if one of them is playing at home that night, there most likely isn't a Reds game also happening at Suncorp.

Not the fields fault as it’s been in good condition all year but it’s looking pretty chopped up from the league game tonight and they do far less than a Rugby game.

If it’s meant to keep raining it will be a slow one tomorrow night.

It belted (and I mean belted) last night in Paddington for most of the night. Not raining now but it’s also not sunny.

Is going to be a mess.

What can you do I guess. Been the case for 100 years of playing in the rain. I think it helps QLD tbf with the guys like Brial and Bryant who seem suited to the close carries.

If White can have his kicking game on point from the ruck it’ll go a long way for the Force.

Forecast suggests the rain should stop by ~2pm. With Suncorp having some of the best drainage and ground staff of any stadium in the world, it's looking hopeful that it won't be a slop fest. It'll still be very soft underfoot regardless, so scrums are going to be interesting.

Get the helicopters in! I remember Sydney Uni doing that once to dry the ground.

If it can not be pouring during the game I’ll hopefully get more bums on seats. Dolphins Broncos had a good crowd last night in the rain.
